I have stayed at this hotel on many occasions when coming to Asbury for concerts etc.. They are in my opinion the only place to stay in Asbury Park. The hotel is recently renovated and the color scheme is a little odd but it adds to the entertainment of the evening. It is within walking distance of the Stone Pony... more

We had a ridiculously low rate from Travelzoo so our expectations weren't high, but we ended up having a great overnight stay. The hotel is really neat-take a walk around and explore a little. The front desk staff was friendly, our room had a boutique hotel feel and was well appointed(great bathroom with big towels and spa toiletries), and the ocean... more

This hotel has been undergoing major renovations in the past few years. It has come a long way, but is not there yet. Still lacking on the customer service end, too. Make sure to request a room with an ocean view for a pleasanter stay, as the ocean, a stone's throw away, is still this place's best asset. more

The hotel, though beautiful, had more issues than any other establishment I have stayed previously. The hotel was constantly working on renovating two of the three elevators over the weekend, creating loud noises heard up to the seventh floor of the building. The elevators smelled of marijuana and were very slow in responding. Also, the room temperatures were above eighty... more

Huge hotel. We were there in the low season.. so only around 10 rooms were occupied. This created somewhat of a 'Shining' atmosphere. The whole town felt like it was in the twilight-zone, which was not unpleasant. Great location next to the beach. Very large and renovated rooms (ours had ocean view). Room was clean. Breakfast was extremely minimalistic, but... more

I have had friends staying at the Berkely before and I've therefore heard all the horror stories from the past about strange noises and break mark on the doors. Then I heard they renovated the hotel and would be like any other hotel. When me and my friends arrived we first saw the rather boring building, but then entered the... more

If you want to ruin your weekend or vacation, than you would not find a more proper establishment of doing so. This hotel is an epitome of every dysfunctional or non-existent feature that you think should exist in hotel. The Berkeley does feature an impossible check-in, crummy rooms, noisy corridors. Its only claim to fame is close proximity (walking in,... more

It's an old building that looks like it used to be an asylum for the insane, but they've remodeled inside and it's very chic. The reception desk folks could use some customer service training, but all in all the stay was great. Clean and stylish...bathrooms are a bit small, but the bed was firm and comfortable. Hotel is right on... more

We'd never been to Asbury Park or the Berkeley, but based on our experience we'll return to both. The hotel is an interesting combination of new &ol old: it's an old hotel with renovated surfaces & furnishings. The history makes it both charming & eerie. In a good way. There are many nooks & crannies to explore. Fks like the... more

I wonder if the other reviewers stayed at the same place I did. We were here over Labor Day Weekend and every single room was taken. Still the service and the room were fantastic, especially for the price. The room was clean and large with a king sized bed. The bathroom was big, clean, and well stocked. The location was... more
