Welcoming staff, felt safe while they were friendly and unobtrusive. Clean everywhere, pool is a bit of a show, but really not intimidating at all. It's low key despite some people trying to think they're not in a renovating era in AB. Elevator somewhat slow, could use some vending machines as there is nothing nearby to get a snack. Best... This place is more like a three to three and a half stars value for money, strictly speaking, but I'm being generous because you can tell that this once-glamorous retro resort has fought its way back from the brink of the wrecking ball and not done a bad job, and the people running it are very nice. Just keep in... More

Clean rooms, great climate control, A/C super quiet on the balcony, pet friendly, continental breakfast, and plenty of entertainment. The staffing no matter where you're at (front desk, lobby, tiki, restaurant, main room) are all super friendly, professional, and accommodating. The food in the restaurant is also very good. Wings, quesadilla, spicy tuna wrap, BLT w/friend green tomatoes, ALL VERY... More

Excellent place for a getaway! The hotel staff is friendly and accomodating, especially Audrey and Doug,. The GM Kris is always a pleasure to see and talk with. it has a mix of people from gay to straight to couples and children. it was justa melting pot of everyone getting along and enjoying each others company. Walk across the street... More

Great time. Right there near the boardwalk, down the Street from several famous Asbury Park landmarks and attractions. We got in free at the Night club that's in the same building!!! My only complaint is that since we were on the 4th floor we were out of range of the wifi. But it was a beautiful view and would love... More

This is an interesting hotel with a schizophrenic existence. One minute a high energy gay hotel and nightclub. The next minute you will see families with children check in...the next minute the hallways will be filled with marijuana smoke, with loud partying str8 people who just came from a concert at the Stone Pony. Be advised the free wifi does... More

To give some background : We decided to stay here very last minute on a Saturday night in Aug and booked it at like 9:30p due to a cancellation they had. The parking lot was quiet small. We ended up paying for parking a block away. The hotel seems okay for people who are into clubbing. Not good for sleeping.... More

Was amazingly surprised how nice this hotel was. I haven't been to Asbury Park in years so was a little reluctant. But we were looking for a hotel on the beach that accepted out 2 dogs so we tried it. The hotel was clean, the staff was extremely friendly, located right across the street from the 1st ave beach. Plenty... More

Because I want it all to myself !! My partner and I just returned from a 3 night stay at the Empress in Asbury. It was our first time in Asbury Park and we were excited to go. We were not disappointed. We arrived at the hotel and checked in, we were given an ocean view room on the 4th... More

This was our first trip to Asbury Park and we were pleasantly surprised. The Empress Hotel has a very laid back feel. The front desk staff were nice and efficient. Rooms were clean and neat and we had an oceanfront view. We enjoyed the bar and the outdoor pool. Special recognition to the bartender who was nice enough to offer... More
