There really is no hotel on the beach in Asbury Park other than the Empress. It's the only game in town. It's overpriced for what you get. The room is small but clean. You really aren't in the room that much. This is a decent place to stay for one or two nights but not longer. It's literally a 2... More

When I go to the Jersey shore, The Empress is my hotel of choice. The hotel has so much to offer; pool, bar, entertainment and a great staff. The views of sunrises are spectacular. If you go to the shore, you must stay at the Empress Hotel!

Booked a room for two nights the weekend before Memorial Day. The room was clean and close to the beach and near all the restaurants and other amenities Asbury Park has to offer. I have two complaints: the pool was not open and security. About 3:00 in the morning, a group of twenty year olds who rented a room (there... More

I don't know what happened between the other reviews and mine but this place is unacceptable, There was not even toilet paper in the bathroom - not to mention even a holder - the closet door was broken in the middle and curtains filthy. The pool was unavailable as they were waiting an inspection but the rate I was charged... More

I stayed here at the Empress twice, with my sister and her husband and my niece and her husband. The first time was in 2013 for a couple of days. I stayed on the 4th floor in a room with balcony. The rooms were old, window dirty, bath room was not properly cleaned, rugs smelled the pool area was very... More

Every year for my birthday weekend my husband & I head to Asbury Park for an overnight visit. This was our 3rd time staying at The Empress because its location and welcoming vibe are the best in the area! The front desk is super helpful with dining suggestions and they seem to be very happy you are there. The rooms... More

Stayed here for a concert at the Stone Pony. Excellent location - beach view was awesome. Staff were very friendly and helpful each time we needed them. Room was clean and plenty big. Balcony was perfect for enjoying some scenery and people watching. Would definitely stay again.

The Empress is my go to hotel when staying in Asbury Park. Across the street from the boardwalk, the Empress Hotel is a well located hotel, with a dance club and pool. There are only two large hotels in Asbury to choose from, but the Empress is the party that doesn't stop. The rooms aren't anything special, but are decent... More

Stayed one night on weekend. Rooms are ok nothing special, bathrooms are dated that's only reason I didn't give 5 stars. But there are basically 2 large hotel choices in asbury (both just ok) this location is better as far as I'm concerned. Directly next door is bar watermark cafe, new sushi restaurant Blu Nami, Italian Bar Restaurant Stella Marina... More

The most kind and pet friendly multiculturaly diverse hotel I have ever been to. The food is amazing, the rooms are clean, and the beach and boardwalk are minutes away. The Paradise club on the first floor of the hotel is a great place to have a great time! Thank you for making our stay so amazing!
