The Jersey Shore is not generally known for its luxurious hotels. I have in the past had a difficult time staying in hotels on the shore. This is a small hotel, the bar, lobby and restaurant are very nice and has a nice funky vibe it, while the hallways are showing a little wear. We booked a king size room... More

My honey and I have had the pleasure of dining here several times. Each and every one of those times the food is simply delicious. Since we are fortunate enough to dine out frequently, we pride ourselves on being "foodies". We know delicious, well prepared food and we know when a chef has exceptional culinary skills. The chef at the... More

The place is a former hotel tured into a rooming house and reincarnated as a hotel. In the process every bit if historic detail has been lost. The rooms are clean spacious and comfortable but witness no view and nothing to differentiate them from a fares expensive motel six. It's a few Ickes from the water in a nondescript neighborhood.... I read thoroughly most of the recent reviews of the Hotel; and I read the literature supplied by the Hotel, and I just don't get it. I was expecting to find , to paraphrase the great reviews and marketing material, a "sumptuous" and "luxurious" "boutique" hotel with "luxury amenities" and an attentive staff. After an hour or two I had... More

Friends who live in Asbury introduced us to the Tides restaurant last week. We spent the first part of the dinner conversation marveling over the restoration of this Asbury grande dame, from the authentic tin ceiling to the art gallery to the water walls. Despite one entire wall of the restaurant being taken up by a bridal party rehearsal dinner,... More

I visited Hotel Tides last summer with my wife and mother and was very impressed. We loved the boutique, luxury amenities of this little hotel away from the bustle of the Boardwalk. We were excited to return again this year. We were in a double room again, and the beds were super comfortable and the stone shower was as refreshing... More

I love this place. Stayed a few times. Rooms are always nice and clean. Beach is walking distance. Showers are awesome. The tiny bar downstairs is always a great mix of people, good drinks and fun. The only thing to complain about is breakfast. Choices are limited and pastries are chilled. With so many great places in AP bring some... More

This hotel seems confused. The decor and style are trying very hard, but do not fit the style and era of the building. There was an odd mix of expensive fixtures but lack of upkeep and no decor on walls. Doors were cracked, paint chipped, no hand towels, freezing room that we could not adjust the temperature on. Horrible loud... More

We live fairly locally and have never stayed in the hotel portion of the Hotel Tides, but we ate at the restaurant and had a great meal. The chef, Jeffrey, has done a fabulous job creating a flavorful menu and serving food that is prepared perfectly. Our meals were delicious and we especially enjoyed the homemade butterscotch bacon. I had... More

We stayed at the Tides over the long Labor Day weekend, a bit of a return for me to a town in which I spent much time in my youth in the late 70s and early 80s. Asbury Park has improved tremendously, but is still pretty disjointed - the nicely redone boardwalk seems miles away from the small but interesting... More
