A tranquil setting nested amongst bamboo palms and bougainvillea flowers - a lovely old homestead with spacious rooms and beautiful antique furniture - lovely pool for swimming and relaxing beside - staff were very attentive and spoke good English and helped us with our Spanish ! The food was top notch and coconut or toffee prawns especially delicious. On site... More

Wow, staying there was outstanding. This hacienda hotel is picture perfect. The rooms are filled with beautiful old wood furniture. The staff is very friendly, most speak English. The food was delicious and the mojitos, real mojitos ($7 each). Wondering around the grounds makes you feel very tranquil. They have a small pool and hot tub, which is great for... More

The Hacienda San Jose was the highlight, in terms of lodging, of a trip to Columbia. The setting is gorgeous. The grounds are beautifully maintained and the meals in the open air pavilion are lovely. Breakfasts are cooked to order and the staff tried hard to accommodate special requests. If you're looking for bright lights and the big city, this... More

The staff at the restaurant and bar were excellent if a bit slow. A breakfast menu would have helped as they asked us what we wanted and then it was hard to communicate. The problem with the place is that it is at the end of a long very rough dirt road and there is nothing to do. No hiking... More

unfortunately the experience of the flexibility, the service levels and the complete lack of balance between price and quality in the restaurant offerings made us check out after one day. In addition the local management was not even aware of the hotel policies for reservations, cancellations and early chek out which ended up costing an additional 150 USD for which... More

I stayed both here and at Sazagua, and while both are very nice, when I come back (and I will), I'll be staying solely at San Jose next time. Despite it not having a spa like Sazagua does, it does feel like a more serene environment because guests have more room to spread out and avoid each other. Given that... More

We stayed here for 4 nights in July. It is very pretty and unique - each room is different. The staff are very helpful and accommodating. A lovely breakfast was included each morning. We stayed for 3 suppers and enjoyed our meals each night. There is a travel agency on site that specializes in tours in the coffee triangle. We... More

I found myself at Hacienda San Jose, via a Discovery Tours, Gate 1 tour of Colombia. While the entire tour, and all the hotel accommodations were spectacular, this is the one hotel that I was sad to leave. Two nights at the hacienda wasn't long enough. I left a piece of my heart here. Spend a night there, and see... More

This hacienda is in a glorious setting: with woodland nearby and beautiful gardens with fascinating birdlife: a lovely place to spend a couple of relaxing days and a good base for visiting the coffee region and cloud forest. We were in a suite although we had booked a standard room (there are only 3 standard rooms and 10 suites) and... More

Stayed here for 3 days. Location is a 20 minute drive out of town, and well located for visiting the local area. The hotel itself is comfortable enough. Rooms are not that huge. We had a suite, which was a single ensuite room with a small terrace (hence "suite"), and the sink inside the bedroom. The in-room safe was broken... More
