This place is awesome. Hot showers, power outlets next to every bed, great wifi. Most importantly, there are lots of communal areas where it's really easy to meet people and really comfortable to hang out. The staff are super friendly too. Walking around at night in the center is not a good idea, but taxis are cheap, and during the... More

I am actually staying here right now, and as a traveler who almost always stays in hostels, this is such a luxury at hostel prices. It feels more like a boutique hotel. This is the perfect place to stay if you need a break from the party-hostel-vibe (which sometimes i want) It's perfect for getting some needed rest, working on... More

We stayed in the 4 bed dorm, lots of space and lockers for all. Each bed has it's own light and plug socket. Big plus for us as we always seem to be charging something. The bathrooms were spotless as was the kitchen. The kitchen has all utensils that you need, and the fridge looks brand new. The TV area... More

$10 a night and what for? An incredibly spacious, clean and luxurious hostel which could easily pass as a hotel. Some people complain about the location, nothing wrong with it. It's in a local part of town that isn't the cleanest, but it's near the stations and cheap shops. Perfect for a traveller. If you come to Medellin you simply... More

... also if some people will not like the area. For us it was more real Medellín. You are also with a short walk right in the center or a metrostation. Normally its also easier in Medellín to take a cap... BUT THE HOSTEL WAS GREAT. The interior is done with love. The have a lot of social areas (...other... More

The 10 bed dorm is really spacious and clean, it has excellent beds and big lockers! You can use the kitchen, the computer, the washing machine, the TV and the WiFi is good. The bathrooms are super clean and really good standard. As to the location you should be a little careful (as usual) or ask the hostel staff.

We read the reviews about the dangerous neighbourhood. We decided we like To stay in à more historical are than the backpackers area in Medellin. The hostal is great, very new from The inside but with historical ambiance. We more or less had the place To ourselves. It was very conveniënt next to metro, plazas and musea. We did not... More

This hostal is by far one of the nicest places I have yet to stay in all my years of hosteling …. It is impeccably clean, spacious, beautiful space and light, great mattresses, and really secure. It was a joy to stay here with plenty of room and space to spread out in the lounge, relax in the hammock, enjoy... More

This hostel is unique: it's great, well equipped, clean and the staff is helpful and very kind. But...the location is horrible! It's nearby the Metro Station Parque Berrio, you have to walk 5 blocks through many brothels and sleazy, dodgy houses of prostitutes and drugusers. I just can't understand what made somebody think this could work. If you'll not go... More

The worldwide renaissance of budget hosteling has produced a crop of outstanding hostels in some countries, but this one may be in a league of its own - and it is in a most unlikely place. Spacious, refined in taste and designed almost regardless of cost, Hostal Antiguo features comfy lounges, precolombian as well as modern art, a terrace, a... More
