I am writing this review in response to the 'St Patrick's day party' and having stayed at TWP before. The thing I love about this hostel is how it has deeply routed itself as part of the city. There are events though out the week that have travellers and Colombians mixing and having a good time together. It's very important... More

I really enjoyed my stay in this hostel and found it ideal for a solo traveler looking to meet new and interesting people. The location is ideal for anyone who is trying to get of the tourist trail. The location is near the Metro makes travel within Medellin easy and it is nearby major supermarkets and bars. The layout of... More

The set up - three late 20 year old lads traveling in Colombia midweek. The Wandering Paisa is located in the more "local" central part of Medellin close to one of the universities, several miles north of the Poblado district, which is home to some of the popular backpacker hostels. Because it's a few miles away, the Wandering Paisa is... More

If you are like me and want to stay in a Hostel in an area that is not entirely foreigners, is close to the main attractions and nightlife, and has an incredibly cool vibe with a lot of hangout areas then The Wandering Paisa is perfect for you. Here is the difference between Wandering Paisa and the other hostels in... More

I recently stayed at the Wandering Paisa for 2 months. During this time I was imppressed by the friendly and helpful staff, the opportunities I had to interact with locals at events the hostel held, and the location which is in a not so touristy area of Medellin. If you want to see Gringos everywhere you go and speak English... More

Not the best location. Need the metro to get to down town. Not near other hostels like those in el pablado. Rooms are small and cramped. No air conditioning so quite hot. Staff a friendly and helpful. Hostel is close to supermarkets and some bars.

Decently priced rooms, dorms are a little small but showers were hot and spacious. Great for booking tours getting cabs directions etc. salsa lessons were a hoot! Free coffee and wifi. Computers aren't free but should be. Had a corking fee they waived no problem! Highly recommend!

The Wandering Paisa is truly a great hostel. Nice and spacious dorms, enough bathrooms, everything very clean. Great staff, always ready to help you finding a tour, bar, restaurant, bus, whatever. There are a couple of common rooms: tv room, roof terrace, room with hammocks, terrace downstairs where you can hang out and meet people, and in the evening there... More

Not a bad hostel but by no means the best either. We booked 2 beds in an 8 bed dorm "Bolivia" which was ridiculously tiny and cramped. There was no room for backpacks and you couldn't fully close the door as one of the bunk beds was in the way. This was obviously an issue at night when the bar... More

I loved this hostel. It has a great balance between partying (good bar) relaxing (good hammocks and rooms), meeting tourists and locals, comfort and more. In all of South America, this is one of the only hostels to bring in locals which we then went out with (e.g. On open mic Thursdays and language practice Fridays). Perfect for travellers of... More
