I stayed at this hostel for a long weekend. I had a private room which was basic but very clean, including tv and a good hot shower. The hostel is clean and there is a very good vibe! The blond lady at the reception, sorry forgot her name, is great! She is lovely and extreme helpfull! The location of the... More

Stayed at the black sheep For two weeks, good hostel with a friendly vibe. Great staff. Juliana in partucular was absolutely fantastic and assisted me with a troublesome delivery by dealing with DHL in Colombia on my behalf. As well as being very knowledgable about all that medellin has to offer while always having a friendly and happy demeanour. Really... More

Great location in a world class city. Staff, rooms, wifi were all first rate. Had a private room with a good bed. There was secured parking for our car. This place was a great value and I would stay there again.

very decent hostel in one of the safest part of Medellin - it's also very close to the night-live hotspot. It's very clean and fairly cheap. i would avoid to book any extra activities (Guatape, etc...) trough them as they tend to be quite expensive.

Kelvin went above and beyond all realms of favours by helping me arrange getting my rucksack with 9months of travelling memories, back from Colombia to London. Viva Colombia oversold the flight I was on at Medellin and unfortunately for me, my flight, which I had checked into; which I had checked my rucksack on to, and had a boarding pass,... More

Black Sheep is a decent and well-equipped hostel. The staff are very friendly and helpful, and the dorm rooms are decent, if unspectacular. There are frequent activies you can sign up for the meet people and make the most of your time in Medellin. There's a metro station and plenty of places to eat and go out drinking nearby. On... Appreciate the review and positive comments. The free walking tour is a great option. The hostel has spaces set aside just for our guests. The BBQ has been going for almost ten years. That's a lot of sausages. Thanks again. Kelvin More

Black sheep is a good option in the popular poblado neighborhood. Kelvin, the owner, is helpful and I've heard his wife is a great Spanish teacher although she has a packed schedule. We stayed in a private double room, the room was comfy and clean, the shared showers were great and clean as well. The kitchen is large but guests... More

Thanks for the comments The wife, Yadira, is indeed a great Spanish teacher. One of the best apparently. Hasn't taught me much though. Its a constant source of frustration that the guests don't clean up after themselves. Well a lot do but I know what you mean. And the maids leave at 7pm and after that it can get a... More

If you go with the idea that this is a hostel and not a hotel it will exceed your expectations. Friendly and helpful staff, lots of communal areas to meet people, great service to go on tours, fast laundry. We got to stay in three rooms, the private rooms on the third floor are very nice, very comfortable beds, cable... More

Thanks for your comments The hostel is ten years old. We added the second floor five years ago and the third floor two years ago. So its certainly a lot nice the third floor. I am going to work on doing up the bottom floor and making it a bit nicer. Cheers Kelvin More
