When I arrived I asked desk clerk Jose if the corporate rate I had been quoted included the taxes. He checked, and informed me that it did. When I checked out, he told me that since I was a resident of Colombia, the taxes would have to be charged to me separately. This would have resulted in me paying $210... More

I was in Cartagena for the film festival last March and stayed for a week at this boutique hotel right in front of the TAM theatre, by the walls facing the sea of the Old Town. I was very happy to be there: the location was perfect, walking distance (well, everything is walking distance within the Old Town) from the... More

This was a great place. It was a little expensive but we did stay during the holiday. The location was great, just short walk to the center of town. There were several restaurants nearby and the breakfast was very good.

I was really impressed with the excellent service provided by the staff, they were very attentive, friendly and guest service oriented. Though the rooms are pricey, the hotel is beautiful, well decorated and maintained with clean rooms. The Wi Fi service was problematic and almost impossible to connect inside the room.

You expect more at this price. Hotel needs some maintenance updates. Wifi did not work for three days. Available bikes are in bad condition. Pool is tiny. Room was large, service is attentive, but the overall package is just not worth it. Look elsewhere.

After looking the pictures they show in the web site I decided to make a reservation for the Don Jaime room. My first impression was that pictures look much better than the room itself. The room is small and the sea view is eclipsed by a 42" LCD TV located in the very center of the window. Conclusion, five hundred... More

I stayed at this hotel very recently and must be honest -- I was underwhelmed. The hotel was nice. But that was it -- it was just nice. For the money that we paid for our room (nearly $400 per night), we could have stayed in a much better place with better views and in a better hotel. The location... More

Excellent location, and extremely helpful, friendly staff. Very pleasant breakfast. Rooms well kept and serviced at least twice a day. Nice touches like robes and slippers. Pool is tiny but part of a charming and cute courtyard. We were two 30 something women travelljg alone and felt very comfortable and safe. Perhaps slightly overpriced, but that's truly the only remotely... More

My wife and I spent two nights at La Merced. Service was remarkable …. all staff provided an excellent service but must give a special mention to Daniel and Fernando who clearly made a difference. Very relax atmosphere, we truly felt at home while living in a very beautiful environment. The hotel is located in a very quiet street but... More
