The rooms are very pretty and well decorated but the staircase is dangerous, a very narrow spiral staircase. The living room downstairs is not very comfortable with heavy wooden furniture. The kitchen table is not easy to use or suitable for meals. The bedroom upstairs has a noisy wooden floor. The acoustics is not good in general. You can hear everything from next door. It’s also a dark place. The drawers and cabinets smell like mould. The worst feature is the bathroom. It is open top so no privacy at all. The shower is ok but the bathroom is dark. The towels don’t smell good. There aren’t hangers for the towels so they smell. The bed is very good and the linen is very clean. You can have breakfast at their nearby hotel but it was not a good experience either. The breakfast room is also dark and it does not smell good. It’s situated on a very noise street. There’s loud music being played until the small hours and vendors occupy the sidewalk by the entrance. The service is very good. The staff is very nice and so is the owner. We decided to leave before our planned departure date because we couldn’t get a wink if sleep and they were very understanding and tried to fix the situation by offering a transfer to their other property but agreed to reimburse us partially when we turned the offer down. However we have not received our reimbursement yet.

Terrible . Traveling all day. Go to check in , no guest allowed. 😂 NO GUEST ALLOWED . ALL must be registered to the Room . No such thing as Freedom. Had to buzz in and wait as well . Would not recommend if you want a guest. Nothing listed prior to the reservation about such rule.

I stayed here for 5 nights and extended to 6 due to a delayed flight home to the UK. I had the 2 floored studio with the balcony onto the main street. This was in a great location for everything, and I always try and choose somewhere with a bit of outdoor space, this had a balcony which was shared but I never saw anyone else on it. Other people have mentioned noise... There is no denying that this is a very noisy location, Cartagena seems to be a 22 hour a day city, it does go a bit quieter between 4am and 6am. The aircon did drown some of the noise out, but I can sleep through anything, but if you are a light sleeper this may not be the place for you. There is a spiral staircase (which does move quite a lot), and I was not going to try and get my large suitcase up it so I left it downstairs and took what I needed up with me. Not an issue for me, just an observation. The pool area was very nice, there wasnt a lot of shade up there during the day but early and late it was nice. I cannot speak highly enough of all members of staff that I interacted with, everyone was very helpful, from arriving at 11pm at night to meet me, to extending my stay twice due to flight issues. It feels very secure as you have to be buzzed into and out of the place every time. But... at the same time, this made me feel like I couldn't come and go as I pleased particularly in the evenings. There was a slight dely on the door unlocking after they had pressed the button, which however much I knew was the case, I still tried to open it too early every time. I know that wasn't just me as I heard someone else doing it too !! The instructions are all in spanish so maybe it says "dont touch the door yet !" or something. In my opinion a smart lock or keyfob would be a better solution, this could be linked to a motion detected camera in the lobby ? Stay here if you're going to Cartagena and you can tolerate a bit of atmospheric noise.

Make sure you get a room with a window...nice. Very large room, two story loft, nice entrance to the place. Getting in and out was a slightly annoying....for security they have to open door for you. The street was noisy at night though.

This is a very good upscale hotel with air conditioning, a small pool and a fully functional kitchenette. A convenience store is right downstairs and open 24 hours. It is about a three minute wall to the cathedral.

We stayed here for a friend's birthday, it was 3 of us in total, we were in the Safari/Africa room. It's extremely spacious with two stories - the living room, bathroom and kitchen were downstairs, and the beds are upstairs. Minor detail #1: the spiral staircase is SUPER shaky and noisy, and slippery with certain shoes. Definitely be very careful on it, and try not to go up or down it with luggage. I left my suitcase downstairs and only brought up what I needed to sleep. Minor detail #2: we never had hot water in the shower. I constantly go to Santa Marta so I'm used to the lack of hot water, which is a welcome thing in such a hot climate, but when the room is cold, it's not the best combination. Minor detail #3: you need to be let in/out the property by a staff member, every single time. We felt bad every time we came back multiple times (from dinner, from partying), the employee was very nice and didn't have a problem with it, but it's just a drag to have to bother someone repeatedly. The good stuff: super nice balcony, the AC really blasts so no worries about getting hot in the night, and the location couldn't be better. We used the pool up on the roof one night and it was a great experience to unwind from our night out. Near all the good spots in the Walled City, close to the banks, next to a grocery store and right in the middle of all the souvenir sellers you could ever want!
