This is a shabby hostel with too many layers of paint masquerading as a hotel. Go to any one of the other little hotels that are actually well-run and decent in Cartagena. Don't come here. The rooms are small and pokey, the place smells and is old and in BIG need of a facelift. And the staff are useless.

So far it was a very good hotel. The room is cleaned everyday, breakfast is served in the terrace with coffee, juice, jamon, eggs and sometimes some fruit. My room was in the 3rd floor Rm 304 with a balcony. It is humid in Cartagena and my air conditioned room was great. The Wifi works on and off, however, if... More

I stayed here for a night between leaving Santa Marta and catching a flight from the Cartagena airport the following day. I arrive a bit late, after 9 pm and was greeted warmly, but by someone who didnt speak any English. He couldnt find my booking for the first 10 mins even though it was written right in front of... The hotel is quite simple but still very nice! We had huge a room with 2 king size beds and a large balcony (the top balcony above the "tennis" store on the pics). Even though you are in the middle of the historic center, I slept very well - even though you have the normal downtown noise on the street.... More

As others have mentioned, the hotel is in a great location because you can walk to El Centro, it is half a block from Parque Fernandez Madrid (but then again mostly everything is walking distance within the Old City). TIP ON DIRECTIONS: Ask the driver to go to Calle Segunda de Badillo , rather than trusting Google Maps (which just... More

This hotel is in a great location and although the room is very simple it was extremely clean and comfortable. We had a wrap around balcony that looked out over the street and allowed us to watch all the action from our room. Breakfast was served each day on the rooftop patio and is made to order. Although you are... More

This was the third stay at Balcones del Badillo. I am a repeat customer because of the location, quality of the service and enjoyable breakfasts on the rooftop overlooking part of the Ciudad Amurallada. They are very considerate and accommodating. There is wifi access with a computer and printer. It is located between Getsemine and plaza Santo domingo neighborhoods. I... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at this lovely hotel in the heart of Cartagena's historic center. The owner and all of her staff were kind, hospitable and knowledgeable and the breakfasts were hot and delicious with yummy, fresh tropical juices every morning. They helped us feel at home and we had a wonderful stay! I would highly recommend this hotel... More

I stayed here as I was traveling with a pet and they were one of the few hotels that accept pets. The front desk was helpful and the hotel is well located. However there were a lot of negatives. There was no hot water in the bathroom sink and they said that wasn't provided. The pillows were hard as a... More

this little hotel is situated in the old city of Cartagena. The rooms are simply furnished but they have their own toalett and shower. The hotel is very secure, clean and the stuff is so kind and helpful. The breakfast with eggs, bread, juice and coffe is served on the roof terass. We leaved there at first four nights and... More
