This place is really a fantastic place to stay in Cartagena, located in Getsemani just outside the Old City. I booked directly with the hotel and got a 15% discount - so my private room with breakfast was only $37 USD/night! It on a quiet street and you can walk everywhere you need to go in Cartagena! Cafe Havana is... More

We were initially happy with Casa Carmen, but several things happened that made us very unhappy. We booked a family room for a week for 2 adults and 2 children. On the second to last night of our stay, we were informed that we had to pay an additional charge because of the age of one of our kids. This... More

Spent 3 nights at Hotel Casa Carmen this past week and had a great time. Very accommodating staff --> Maria at the front desk is super helpful at letting you know about what to do and where to eat. When there was a miscommunication with the scheduling and we were given a room with only 1 bed, they rectified the... More

We spent four enjoyable nights at this quiet, friendly, small hotel. Staff was very helpful, giving good advice about where to eat and what to see. Easy walk to tourist attractions within walled portion of city. Very reasonably priced. Cartagena is warm so unheated, lukewarm water in shower was not so bad, but we would have preferred warmer water.

We loved this place. It's on a side street right close to some nice restaurants and bars. The rooftop deck was a great spot to take some beers and get some sun with a view of the whole city. Our room was large and clean and the ac worked great. The price for this place was very good compared to... More

It was a nice little colonial house where we got a reasonable room so I was really really happy. Everything worked fine there, the breakfast was good and we even got some fruit salad. The beds were comfortable and light. The only thing I have to remark is that it would be good if they had a little drink you... More

Recently my family stayed at Casa Carmen and had a wonderful experience. We booked 3 rooms for 5 nights. Cristian generously agreed to arrange an airport pick up. The rooms were spotless, had working air conditioning, comfortable beds and a TV if needed. A cooked to order breakfast was prepared tastefully by the very kind and cheerful Ru. There was very little... More

I was traveling with a group of friends, and we reserved three rooms for a total of 5 nights. The breakfast was plentiful, the hotel easy to find, and the neighborhood delightful. I would definitely recommend this place to others.

We stayed five nights here. It's a lovely old colonial house in Getsemani, an area we really liked staying in. The hostel is round the corner from Calle Media Luna where lots of bars are and only a 10 minute walk to the walled old city. The rooms and beds are comfortable. The shower is cool (not freezing cold), which... More
