Before booking this hotel I wasn't sure how safe and good is to stay in Getsemani, the area just outside historic centre walls. Now I can say without any doubts that the next time I would definitely stay there and only there. Staff is very very friendly and helpful even if they speak only spanish. I booked 2 rooms, however... This hotel is a haven of peace on a very busy, noisy road. The rooms are on two storeys, off an internal courtyard and so it is quiet inside them. The rooms are simple, but adequately furnished, and the bathroom is okay but with only a cold shower. The rooms are cleaned daily and the staff are friendly and speak... More

We spent two nights at 120 USD/night. There is no hot water, no breakfast included and the matresses are the hardest ever found. It's located in the unsafest and noisiest district of Cartagena. Internet never worked during our stay although this was one of the reasons for which we had booked this hotel. When we complained with the owner about... More

My friend and I stayed in C.Colonial for 2 nights and we loved this part of the city. The hotel is located in Getzemani, a vibrant area with everything close by. Staff were excellent in providing great recommendations of places to eat and drink, some which were around the corner. The place itself is cosy and welcoming

We had an ok stay here, our room did not have a balcony so no natural light comes in...whicheant you never knew what time of day it was! Borrowed hair dryer from reception, never seen the wire was taped so when using it the wire blew off and there were sparks everywhere, not so much as an apology from reception..when... More

This place seems great when you check in, even worth the price which is expensive for the Getsemani area in Cartagena. The staff is polite (when speaking Spanish, but they speak very poor to no English, and if you need help with something like directions or arrangements for future accommodations, they suddenly speak neither language if your Spanish isn't perfect),... Such a nice retreat from places that don't care. This hotel pays attention to detail. It's in the mid-range of prices for Cartagena and located in Getsemani which is less expensive than Centro. It's also not so much pressure on the streets to buy, buy, buy. Seems safe enough as there are always pedestrians around even at night. Rooms are... More

Although this is no where near a 5 star hotel, the price is far cheaper as well. I paid 25 dollars a night and got a room with a private bathroom (no hot water in the shower, but in the Cartagena heat, that's hardly a necessity.) What might turn some people off is the lack of air conditioning, but the... More

This hotel is slightly more expensive than similar alternatives but is a safe option to book online - What I found most annoying when staying here was every time I left my room, whether for 5 minutes or 5 hours the staff had entered it to turn off the aircon, this happened constantly, I also went to get a takeaway... Lovely staff who are very helpful; rooms a bit basic but perfectly adequate; slightly expensive given that they don't offer breakfast. Re location, it's some 500 metres from the historic and there are plenty of bars and restaurants on the doorstep.
