We stayed in the Hotel for 2 nights in February 2014. The people working on the Island are very nice. We had a house directly at the see. It was just incredible to hear the see at night. The water and other little islands are easy to reach. The Kanu rental is incl. and its perfect to go around the... More

My wife and I took the day trip to Isla del Pirata as an optional excursion of the 5-day Cartagena tour we were on. We each paid about $20 more than it would have cost if we had booked directly with the hotel. I do not think that Isla del Pirata is quite the “dump” my wife thinks it is,... More

Great day trip. Our excursion was led by a gregarious hotel employee Charlie who met us at the dock in Cartagena and was available all day to answer questions and assist with services. The highlight for me was the snorkeling excursion which cost only $20 US. A boat took us to the marine sanctuary with its magnificent coral reefs and... More

We had a very bad experience with our visit to this island. the small island was crammed with way to many visitors as the boat who took us there. My sunglasses were stolen. The service was terrible as was the lunch included in the trip. I would never ever recommend this to any of my friends! Don't go!

My score is solely for location. At AUD$380 a night (double) this hotel would be more considered “glamping”. We should have known from the beginning, after we tried to book on the phone and no one spoke English. We went to our hotel reception who arranged the booking for us, but told us instead of being AUD$211 as quoted on... More

There was one positive aspect of this place: you're on an island. The photos provided by the website are not in any way representative of their actual accommodations. Those pictures show what the place would look like if they invested a couple hundred thousand dollars into restoring it. The actual staff were rude, barely attempting to conceal their contempt for... The place has a great potential, however: 1.-The facilities are in REALLY BAD SHAPE. 2.- There's a flood of local people selling you handcrafts and food loitering arround ALL DAY LONG, it's really anoying. 3.- The food is the SAME every single day. 4.- You can get some really nice accomodations on sourrounding islands (less than 10 mins on boat)... It is a place to go and relax, to forget about the world and connect with nature. If you want to be up to date with news, tv, radio and the internet... This is not your place. This place offers something better... It offers beatiful views, amazing sounds, great weather, loving people. Just keep in mind that you are in... More

Recommended by our hotel to take up this option for island visits. We were promised quiet, peaceful getaway- maximum 30 people on island other than hotel guests. No wonder there are so many pissed off comments here about day visitors. On our visit, 3 day trip boats arrived, max 50 per boat on an island with sand covered rock "the... More

This is a great place to relax as the island is very small, the amenities are minimal and the setting is incredible. The staff are great, the food is authentic and delicious and the common areas are nice. That said, the rooms are basic and the bathrooms are very poor, especially considering the price. I agree with JF S that... More
