The place has a great potential, however: 1.-The facilities are in REALLY BAD SHAPE. 2.- There's a flood of local people selling you handcrafts and food loitering arround ALL DAY LONG, it's really anoying. 3.- The food is the SAME every single day. 4.- You can get some really nice accomodations on sourrounding islands (less than 10 mins on boat)... It is a place to go and relax, to forget about the world and connect with nature. If you want to be up to date with news, tv, radio and the internet... This is not your place. This place offers something better... It offers beatiful views, amazing sounds, great weather, loving people. Just keep in mind that you are in... More

Recommended by our hotel to take up this option for island visits. We were promised quiet, peaceful getaway- maximum 30 people on island other than hotel guests. No wonder there are so many pissed off comments here about day visitors. On our visit, 3 day trip boats arrived, max 50 per boat on an island with sand covered rock "the... More

This is a great place to relax as the island is very small, the amenities are minimal and the setting is incredible. The staff are great, the food is authentic and delicious and the common areas are nice. That said, the rooms are basic and the bathrooms are very poor, especially considering the price. I agree with JF S that... More

Its all about expectations. If you are looking for a pleasant place to relax, swim and just enjoy being on the islands, Isla del Pirata is very nice. If you are looking for 5-star, all inclusive luxury, go somewhere else. We had a "suite" right on the water with our own veranda and steps leading down to the water. (We... More

for the quality of the "deluxe suite" we had, and of the service provided, $50 (US) would have been a bargain, $100 a fair price, $150 a rip off ... Don't go there. Anyway the islands are soooo small, that a one day tour (actually a couple of houres there) makes more sense than staying overnight (not to mention again,... More

this was the first time for me at la isla del pirata. And I must say this was exactly the vacation I had in mind for years: a small exile from the chaos of civilization, without giving up to its comforts. Peace, tranquillity, silence. But also excellent food, nice pina-coladas and other delicious treats. This stay at Isla del Pirata... More

We stayed on Isla del Pirata for two nights and three days in July 2012 and I'm struggling to decided what I thought of it. First the good; the place is beautiful, we had a 'suite' which had direct access to the sea and, as you can see from the photo's, the view from the room and the private balcony... More

Hotel Isla Pirata in the archipelago of the Rosario Islands, sits on a pristine Caribbean ocean, its a picturesque and charming resort with turquoise waters surrounding the place, with 12 bungalows. I stayed with fiends in the two suites, steps away from the ocean, a very comfortable one bedroom furnished Caribbean modern style accommodation. It has lush gardens with native... More
