Such a shame that this historical hotel is shabby and dirty despite all the present staff, the state of this beautiful hotel is messy. Fault is not of staff's but management. We only had lunch on the pool terrace, can't imagine rooms... food was so so. Tablecloths were dirty cutlery chairs like mostly of the furniture aged and surely never... More

The Colombian people are so friendly and nice, is hotel El Prado in Colombia? Because here they are very unprofessional, not qualified and unfriendly. The hotel is so outdated, dirty and in bad shape, have a look at their "spa", the dirty rooms (including a lot of hair of the maids or previous guests). They claim (5) stars?!!! A complete... More

This hotel was built in the 1930s and has a pre-ww2 charm that I love very much. I can imagine the well healed sea fearing arrivals from europe and Americas enjoying this hotel back then as the fans must have hummed above them. The check-in & checkout process is a little slow, but its not different than other south american... More

This is a very old Grand Hotel – they are in the process of updating some areas. The rooms are manageable as some have an updated bathroom, a relatively comfortable bed, and pretty clean. The daily breakfast included in your stay is pretty remarkable – a full buffet of warm items, bakery and fruit. The highlight of this hotel is... More

Despite being a nice building, our room was in a deplorable state. They take advantage from carnaval and surcharge on everything. The meals offered also poor quality and service not very friendly. I guess like they say: Carnaval of Barranquilla "quien lo vive es quien lo sufre"

We enjoyed our stay at Hotel El Prado, which from a distance, appears to be a charming and beautiful place whose Art Deco style building takes you back to another period of time. However, upon taking a closer look, it's clear that the hotel desperately needs to be renovated. Judging from the style and decor of our room (the bathroom... More

We arrived on New Year's Eve circa 7.00pm and were greeted by Jesus,a very friendly if somewhat flustered "stand in" on reception due to all reception staff going off "sick". We were shown to our suite, room 363, to prepare for the gala dinner we had pre-booked. In order to get to the suite we were escorted by the bell... More

We stayed four nights too many. The hotel is totally run-down. Our first room was a small prison cell. The bathroom was as old as the 85 years of the hotel. The cabinets were chipped, floor and walls stained, and so small, you could hardly turn. The A/C did not work. The bed mattress was full of lumps with coils... More

This is my favorite hotel in Barranquilla, mostly due to the beautiful pool and garden area. The location is great, in a safe neighborhood, near the center of Barranquilla. The rooms are nothing special, a little outdated and plain. The common areas are nice. The service is typical of coastal Colombia, slow, but cheerful.
