The Hotel El Prado is a grand old hotel that harkens back to more elegant times and gives you a taste of Old Barranquilla. It's not shiny and new, but instead offers classic Caribbean charm and a welcome relief from the busy, sprawling city outside. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, the staff is excellent, and the pool area is reason... Dear Guest It's a pleasure for out team to read your comments. We work hard everyday to renovate this hotel to keep it as the best in Barranquilla. As we know, we are the only one hotel with a pool rounded by beautiful grounds. So we make this space special as an Oasis in the city. Besides, our team always... More

I recommend this place without any qualifications. It's a classic from another era, but has been updated throughout the generations. Restaurant food and service is great. Friendly and attentive staff.. our room was large and comfortable. The pool/la piscina is first-class all the way. I hope we can return soon

Dear Guest It's a pleasure to read your comments. During more than 85 years, we have been as the most iconic hotel in Barranquilla, and we work every day to make it. Now we are working to renovate 100% of our spaces (room, public areas, pool, grounds, etc). A lot of rooms are spacious and renovated (a lot are waiting... More

I stayed at this hotel because a lot of friends that have been in Barranquilla recommended it. It was supposed to be one of the best hotels. I went for carnivals. I do understand it can get busy during this time of year, but service was terrible. I stayed in the new tower, bathroom had a leaking problem. Every time... More

If you are going to charge $225(U.S.) per night, then it would behoove you to provide adequate (at least) service. 1. We had to go to reception 3 days in a row to get clean towels and toilet paper for our room. 2. Admit it- there is no wifi in the rooms and the one in the public spaces is... More

I just left the place after a 3 nights stay and still do not understand who rated it as a 5 stars hotel. The historical building is interesting and beautiful and has been recently repainted, the swimming pool is large and clean, and employees are friendly but most of the rooms are old fashioned and decaying. They have probably not... More

We stayed here for two nights and paid $620 cad during carnival. The room's decor was outdated and the floors had stains everywhere. The shower felt like the floor was going to cave in with every step. We called down for shampoo and was informed there wasn't any and our response was for $300 per night you need to provide... More

We didn’t stay here so I can’t comment on the rooms however we spent a couple of afternoon/evenings at the pool and garden restaurant. This is a Grand Hotel that perhaps has saw it’s better days however they did a fantastic job keeping this area up. We were visiting my girlfriend’s family a couple blocks away and this was a... For those who value living and experiencing a place in some depth, either sleep here or have a leisurely meal to absorb and enjoy its gracious old world style and landscaping. It's a good pick for a festive meal with friends. Worth walking the halls to see the old pictures and curios standing here and there. This hotel was formerly... More

The biggest complaint about this hotel is that the rooms could use updating and that is a fair complaint. If this is a concern, ask to see another room until you are satisfied (we did). But, putting that aside, this is an amazing classic hotel in the heart of Barranquilla. In style it is reminiscent to the Biltmore Hotel in... More
