I just returned from three months in China and this is the worst hotel that I stayed in during that entire time. I should note, it was also one of the cheapest. My budget was in the $30-$60 range. This was the only hotel in which I spotted a roach. The carpet was filthy. The included breakfast was simply depressing. On the positive side, the front desk clerks were very friendly (but I don't think they speak much English), and the toilet and sink were new.
There were two inexcusable problems. The first was that the maids placed their carts right next to, and one night literally in front of, my door. This wouldn't be a problem if it was just when they were cleaning, but the carts just sat out all night and every night, and they were pretty disgusting (more like large open trash bins). The second problem was noise from the adjacent room. Despite wearing earplugs I was awakened at 4:00am by the neighbors talking. It was bizarre: they sounded like they were in bed with... more
