Checking in and out is agonizing. I can't believe it requires 2-3 people to do this transaction. They have the tendency to add previous or lacking explanation to your final bills, that was an error on their part from your previous stay. I stayed at the InterContinental at Century City Chengdu for ten nights on business from 9th June to 18th June. I believe the hotel only opened towards the end of 2007 and therefore the current rates are low to attract custom during its first year.
