Rooms are quite clean (double room). Nice courtyard. Helpful staff. Restaurant in a dark place... We didn't eat here because of the atmosphere. Laundry not very efficient, like quite everywhere in China. A little bit far from the center and from the subway too. But there is some bus stops next to the hostel.

We arrived and got a free upgrade. the food was very good, the staff were very friendly and helpful, the pandas (not at the hostel) were incredible. Our TV or DVDs didn't work and the bathroom was poorly laid out. the bed was massive and squishy and out of this world. quite a few Chinese families created more of a... More

This hostel is definitely a mixed bag. Starting with the good points, there are great facilities and you can book various tours e.g pandas, nearby sites through the hostel. The atmosphere is nice, lots of areas to relax and a bar and restaurant. Most of the staff spoke good English and were friendly and helpful. However, hostel cleanliness wasn't great.... More

Stayed in an 8 bed dorm, with it's own (Western) toilet and shower. Each bed had curtain around it, which I think is a lovely touch. Each bed also had it's own lockable cupboard and light. There were two adorable puppies and a cat there, which were great fun. The hostel has a movie room, with loads of sofas in... More

I had mixed feelings about the hello chengdu (formerly sims cosy) hostel. On one hand they have the kind of facilities which we have not come across so far in hostels in Asia such as free DVD rental, games room, spacious bar, travel desk. However most of these facilities don't appear to have been touched since the place changed ownership;... More

They have a good travel service and nice staff. I forgot my lock in a room and after a three-day-trip it was still there. They have a very nice bar with even friendlier staff and table tennis, free computers, pool table, nice garden, restaurant... Very good hostel.

Came to Chengdu after a long overland trip through Kangding, Danba etc. Was very happy to land at Sim's Cozy (as this place was once known) and truly enjoyed the stay. Even though the hostel is big with plenty of rooms and people arriving and departing each day, it still maintained a homely feeling. Dorm rooms were clean and quiet,... More

We booked a private room with shared bathroom, but it ended up they had a glich in their system, and upgraded us to a private ensuite. The hall was relatively quiet at night, so we got a full nights sleep. They have an EXCELLENT free-rental DVD selection. Great games, with a foosbal table, pingpong table, and pool table. Great place... More

The hostel is indeed quite cosy, however they let people check in and check out in the middle of the night. So if you stay in the dorms and the beds aren't full, you can expect anyone at any time of the night apparently. We were sleeping and people came in with a lot of noise and trouble at 1... More

One and a half year back, one of my friends engaged Sim Cozy for his Tibet trip and was very satisfied with their service. Based on my friend's postive feedback, we also signed up with Sim Cozy for a 10 days Lhasa - Kathmandu overland trip. It turned up that Sim Cozy is trading on past reputation. We had a... More
