I visited China for 11 days in May 2014 on a Saga holiday and all went well until the three days at the Tibet Hotel Chengdu in Sichuan province where, for the first time, I experienced wifi in the bedroom. Usually it is confined to the lounge or reception downstairs. I soon had the muscle and joint aches besides pressure... More

We stayed at Tibet Hotel, Chengdu on our very first visit to China in mid July 2014. As we wanted to get first hand experience of the local culture, we chose to travel on local public transport to the places of attractions, eg Panda breeding and research centre, Kuanzhai Xiangzi Alleys, Jinli Street, Dujianyan Irrigation, Mt. Qingcheng and Leshan Buddha.... More

We stayed at the Tibet Hotel for 3 nights as a part of a China tour with China Direct. The rooms are huge with great facilities, the TV in the (King size bed) rooms swivels to be viewed from the bath through a clever glass screen. Aswell as the bath there is a walk in shower, and a hairdryer is... More

Our stay at Tibet Hotel on Renmin street was good, located very conveniently to Wenshu monastery (walking distance) and Panda enclosure (30 mins taxi ride away) taxi ride cost us 50Rmb one way at 8 am. The buffet breakfast was average whilst there was a spread of Chinese and Western cuisine. The rooms were very clean and comfortable, bathroom was... More

We'll worth its previous reviews. The room was large comfortable and had a huge excellent bathroom. The location was fairly quite by china standards. Near to large modern shopping mall with many restaurants including KFC and Pizza Hut and a good Indian. There were no bars at all nearby and the hotel bar was a bit odd. On the first... More

while staying at the Tibet Hotel in mid May, my 81 year old mother accidentally walked in to the glass door at the front of the hotel and collapsed to the ground after hitting her head very hard on the door. The hotel staff were fabulous in providing assistance, from calling a doctor to the hotel, arranging an ambulance to... More

After the hustle and bustle of Beijing and Xian, it was a pleasure to be in chengdu where everything is so much calmer, from the traffic on the streets to the people walking around, even the staff in hotel, were calm. Hotel was ideally placed as there was a new shopping mall in one direction and a monastery with lovely... More

No bling but understated comfort. Room and bathroom well equipped. Breakfast good, as was meal in coffee shop. Slightly out of centre but surrounding area fine, with the usual luxury mall just a couple of blocks away

Spent 3 nights in this hotel. It was fab. The rooms were large, bathroom first class. Staff were very friendly. Price of food and wine the cheapest we had come accross (£6.50 for bottle of wine, and £7.50 for evening meal). The spa treatments were brilliant. Would recomend this hotel to anyone.
