This is a old building. some revamp is badly needed. if you are expecting a chic Kempinski, you will be disappointed. avoid the hotel during late March as the while place will be turned into a fair venue. even the walkway will be used. its walking distance to the mrt.

This is my favorite hotel in Chengdu. Lot's to do within walking distance and the subway is practically right out the front door 100m away. Easy access to the main attractions and business areas in Chengdu. The American consulate, where I had to stop by, is just 5 minutes around the corner. Try the Paulaner restaurant with its home brewed... More

I was there for a couple of nights on a business trip in early April and must admit that I was rather pleased with the overall experience. The check in was very prompt and hassle free which was most needed after all that traveling. The front desk lady, can’t remember her name now was most courteous and helpful leaving me... More

My recent stay in Chengdu due to business arrangements at the Kempinski, was a most pleasant experience which started with the most friendly welcome from the multi-language reception to the very nice rooms and extraordinary well functioned restaurants. The breakfast buffet at Seasons was splendid offering great bread, cold cuts, egg station and a big Chinese selection. The check-out was... More

I have stayed at the Kempinski Chengdu couple times. It's a great place to stay with great people. The facilities are amazing, the staff is friendly, and there are many choices for great food and drinks in and around the Hotel. My favorite place to have a drink is certainly the Paulaner Brauhaus in combination with some tasty traditional german... More

For such a large hotel, who would ever think you'd bump into the General Manager twice in the elevator. And hopefully, like every good manager, they'd ask you if you're enjoying your stay. We were told at check in the Fitness Room was closed due to a huge wine show. The General Manager personally arranged weights to be brought up... More

I only stayed one night and that was enough. The rooms were good but getting into them was a chore. The festival took over the hotel. We arrived late but still expecting the in house restaurant to be open. It was closed and so were most of the other amenities like the pool and gym. I would have thought it... More

Free flow wine and German sausage… who could ask for more? Have had the buffet dinner twice here now and it’s quite good. Both in terms of the food and value. This hotel also hosted a work related function on the roof terrace and it was outstanding. Highly recommend for both service and good food.

The Kempinski Chengdu is good value for money, centrally located and only 30 min from the international airport. There are several positive sides, the international restaurant has a good wide ranging breakfast and evening buffet. Located on the ground floor, for all that love German beer and food, is the Paulaner Brahaus with live music and large sport screens and... More
