Hi, this is Chantal from Nice House Hostel, say hello from the Panda city ChengDu, the gateway to roof of the world “Tibet”, We are a new opened hostel which located in central of the city, We not only provide clean and comfortable bed to sleep, but also great atmosphere. Our staff are all travel-lovers, and know what the average traveler needs when staying in a hostel, and often travel around China to keep up with the latest in the hostel and travel business. And of couse, the receptionists we employed are those with great English skills. We always try to avoild any miscommunication between staff and guests!Nice House Hostel guarantees that your stay here will be happy, entertaining, memorable and excellent value for money.

It was a nice enough hostel! The room was cleaned daily and we got fresh towels upon request The room actually had two double beds and we had only requested one! The bathroom was clean and well maintained! The balcony was lovely to sit on and the laundry was easy enough to use and again clean! The only thing that is a slight issue is the location! We had to get the taxi driver to call the hostel for us so someone could come and meet us to take us to it! Which was great in itself! The only thing that would help is a sign on the main road pointing to it!

I really had to write a review for this. I spent almost two months in China (August and September - 2015) as one of the 24 volunteering interns for AIESEC SWUFE to teach English in schools located all around Chengdu. This was the first and last place I stayed in China that summer and brings back so many good memories and emotions. When I arrived, I knew NOTHING (I thought I knew plenty stuff at the time) about the Chinese culture, language and life. I was scared because I was 19, travelling alone in a different continent for the first time and facing a culture shock and some other issues at the time. Thanks to the PERFECT staff at the Nice House Hostel that I will always look at as my FAMILY, I learned everything they could manage to communicate (good English, considering its China) and this place always made me feel safe and at home every night I spent there. I stayed there a couple of times throughout those 2 months and they usually had different staff members (always awesome people that could share a different perspective) from all over the country looking for a job and different experience that looked a little older than I was. Except the lovely owner, that was always there. The facilities are quite good but not perfect. I stayed in a average 6 male dorm most of the time and never faced a problem, Don't expect it to be like a european hostel though. To sum up, price/quality is ok but I really recommend this place for the staff that will always let you in as a new member of the family and experience. Being happy is the most important thing wherever you stay (apart from the facilities) and I can guarantee that you won't face a problem here. PS: they give you food, advice and will help you with anything. They have laundry service and they can book cabs, train tickets, and tickets for other events like Sichuan Opera. Love, Matt…

I stayed in this hotel in June 2015 and found the staff most helpful. It was my first time in China and after a few weeks it was such a help to find a place where the staff spoke English.(I know its my problem I dont speak any Chinese). On my first day Chantal took me to a few restaurants close by to help me order as all the menus were in Chinese, she did this on more than one occasion. When my bank locked me out of my account on a Friday she also gave me a bike and cycled around with me trying to find a phone place where I could make a call, they also let me use their mobiles unfortunately that wouldn't work. However I felt they went over and above to help wherever they could. A safe bet for English speaking people. You can also do your laundry free of charge if i remember correctly, if its not free its cheap…

Very nice stay. The staff was so friendly and helpful the whole time. We arrived late, around midnight, on our first day coming from the airport. As the hostel is a bit hard to find and our taxi driver didn't know the exact location, we called the hostel and they came to pick us up from a nearby main street. We stayed in a private room, which was comfortable and had a good shower. The lounge areas of the hostel are nice, both indoors and outdoors. You can buy beer, water and other drinks from the reception, as well as postcards. They helped us finding our way to the pandas reserve and back to the airport using public transportation. To arrive at the hostel the best way is to get the airport shuttle to Chengdu downtown (¥10/person) and get down at the last stop from there you can get a taxi to the hostel (which shouldn't cost you more than 20¥ we were told by the airport shuttle staff. Our taxi driver wanted to charge 30 at first but we could negotiate to 20)…

Stayed in this hostel for one night as we were going to see the pandas. Upon checking in the reception staff were very helpful and recommended a nice restaurant for lunch (although pricey). The room was nice we paid a little extra for balcony view if it was the summer it would have been lovely. Nice double bed and shower had hot water. When asking about the pandas they did state they could arrange a tour however did not pressure us into booking this instead they were kind enough to tell us the bus route which was much cheaper as we were on a budget. Overall for the one night it was just what we needed.

Ended up at this cool place via a friend of a friend. It was great!! the owners totally go out of their way for you to get you around chengd. Plenty of chilling areas to meet travelers and in the evening you can get a cold beer in the open air courtyard. We made and ate delicious Chengdu style dumplings and had some times together. Definitely would recommend this hostel! Wil get back next year.. Gr. Xiao Mo

It's in a nice little neighborhood set back from the street via a couple hundred meter walk along a small canal. Nearby is a local market that I really enjoyed for fresh produce, and also for a little shop that sold the most delicious version of won ton soup I've ever had. I was there in February and the only guest. It took a couple of days for my room to warm up. The staff were excellent but at that time of year the restaurant was closed. Ultimately I moved downtown because it was closer to more of the places I visited daily, and to nightlife, but I would return to this neighborhood to buy fresh food and eat the amazing Sichuan soup.

The rooms are super nice, with all that you need, we had the double room and we loved it. Everything is really clean and the hostess is so nice. Everyone is willing to help and assist you on anything you may need. She even took us personally to show us her favourite dumpling place in the neighborhood so we wouldn't get lost. There is an inner patio where you can relax and have some beers and meet other travelers. Wifi works very good. You will get always a smile here, I really recommend it and I would come back without a doubt! :)
