I stayed in this hotel on August 2014. I booked the room on a very popular hotel booking website, so I chosen the room also by checking the pictures: different. The room was smaller and with less facilities of those the hotel described on the web site. Breakfast very Chinese. The western food very old and cannot be eaten. Anyway... More

My room in the annexe was small and cramped but clean, as was the bathroom. However, on the fourth night the sir contact began to leak profusely...i was immediately given another room. An issue here I should the number of facilities advertised that don't exist - restaurant was never open except for breakfast, fridge and security box in the room... More

booked a "superior queen" room here for two nights, and when i arrived the front desk claimed that i didnt have a reservation, when i even had a booking number, and an online receipt for the room. After about an hour and a half of arguing with the front desk staff, whom none of which speak english, a worker took... More

We were booked on a 4 Star holiday, and received an Email saying that we had been moved from our original Hotel to the Forstar, When we entered our room we were very disappointed as we had looked at the original hotel and this came nowhere close to it. Mold around Bath & Shower. Frayed and Stained Carpet. Generally Dirty.... More

I arrived at 2am on 30th September and was greeted by unfriendly staff at the front desk. The elevators to the rooms smelt heavily of smoke. The rooms itself was okay but definitely in need of renovation as the decorations were very worn looking. We had complimentary buffet breakfast which was decent. Overall an average hotel, probably won't stay here... More

I stayed in Chengdu for a few days in order to visit the Panda Base there. Forstar Hotel seemed like a good value hotel...it only cost about $200 for the 3 nights I was there. At first, I thought it was so cheap because it's located in the poor province of Sichuan but later, I found out it's because it's... More

We arrived the hotel at 2 am on Oct 20 and ahead to Jirzhaigou few hours later, we didn't know how the hotel looks like, but when we return the hotel on Oct 23, we found the hotel was really nice, we stay on the second wing and paid RMB 228 per night with breakfast, breakfast was not bad, quite... Despite advertisement this hotel does NOT offer swimming pool and fitness facilities. In addition it does NOT offer any English speaking staff or friendly staff for that matter. Very disappointing stay despite the decent hotelroom. The breakfast is completely Chinese oriented so don't expect coffee, juice or anything other than rice and vegetables. Choose wisely and don't stay at Forstar... More

1. Location: convenient downtown location; close enough to walk to Wenshufang. 2. Amenities: modern plumbing, heater / air-con, tv with good number of channels. 3. Staff: front desk staff is curt, rude and especially disparaging if you do not speak Mandarin; other staff is just curt. 4. Rooms: firm beds (typical of China, which might not be too comfortable for... More

Stayed at the Forstar for 2 days. Location is not bad - about 2 miles from Tianfu square and close to some really tasty little street food shops down the street. Overall the value for what you pay is good. If you speak mandarin you're probably good to go but we had a tough time with the limited english the... More
