My wife and I stayed at The Loft for a total of 5 nights (split into two chunks) in one of their very reasonably priced double rooms. We had a brilliant experience. The hostel was very clean and simply furnished. The reception staff, all in their 20s, were very helpful and spoke very good English/put up with our appaling Chinese... More

The Loft hostel has everything you could wish for, the hostel is in a great location, it is so clean and well maintained, with good facilities and a homely atmosphere. We stayed at the loft on 3 occasions during our 2 week trip in China, the staff are exceptionally helpful and went out of their way to assist us and... More

This place is rather a mid-range hotel than a hostel. We loved it there - our room was large, lucid and clean, the bed comfy, the atmosphere great. It is conveniently located in a street with loads of cute little restaurants and coffee shops. If you are tired of sightseeing and want to relax in a laid back, creative atmosphere,... More

I stayed at The Loft Hostel for two weeks in October, 2013 and I loved it! I had never been to a hostel before so I booked a single room with a king size bed and a private bathroom. The staff at The Loft are its biggest asset. They're all in their 20s and are friendly, helpful, efficient, generous, hard... More

Nice trendy hostel, the dorm rooms were a good size and very clean, they provided lockers within the dorm room. The location is great just a street away from the busy tourist Kuanzhai alley street. The staff were very helpful with tour advice and advice on what to do in the city. Nice little cafe downstairs that serves a good... More

stayed in he loft designed hostel which is YHA (my first in a good few years) that was a printing house in the 80s. This place has not quite decided what it wants to be. It has the coolest cafe (with excellent breakfast but the worst salad - essentially a pile of lettuce leaves served with 1000 island dressing -... More

Right next to Kuanzhai Alley it was a great location for us since we had only one night and a little more than half a day in Chengdu as a layover to Jiuzhaigou. Very modern for a hostel and an amazing common room downstairs. The ensuite rooms had plenty of space and the wetroom was fine. there was a slightly... More

The rooms are large and the bed is comfy and clean. However, the rooms vaguely look like the professional photos they are very misleading. There was exposed wires wrapped up with insulation tape, a noisy air-con unit, the floor was dusty, the TV didn't work and the original radiator hadn't been cleanded in years. The bathroom is pretty dull, it needs... We stayed here for two nights in May and had a wonderful time. The hostel has a really friendly and relaxed atmosphere and everything about it is to a very high standard- it was our favourite hostel in China by far. We had a double private en suite room which was very clean, spacious and nicely decorated. The wifi in... More
