I have been travelling for 9 months and believe think that the Haohai International Hotel is the second best value for money place that I have stayed in (the other being in Bolivia). The rooms and facilities are first class. It is very clean and the staff are friendly. They managed to help me with everything I enquired about despite... More

if you want to waste 1 hour waiting to be checked in because they do not have a contract with agoda.com anymore then this is the hotel you are looking for. After intense arguing with the reception staff for one hour trying to explain that we have already paid and we wouldn't be paying again we finally got a room!... More

My wife and I are English teachers in China, and her family (5 people besides us) came to visit us. We took them to Datong to see the Hanging Monasteries, and we chose this hotel to stay at. The rooms at this hotel are very nice. They are spacious and clean, the beds are comfortable for China standards with nice... More

The rooms were very very clean and comfortable. The main spaces are large and roomy. I enjoyed very much the level of comfort of the room. However, for a modern guest, there is very limited wifi. The hotel descriptions boast an indoor pool, but that does NOT exist. The staff is very very limited in English abilities. The ladies behind... More

The check in took ages. The staff did not speak english, which normally I accept when I go travelling, however if you are an 'international' hotel, it would be assumed the staff would speak english. They also did not know what to make of my booking reference. When they finally found the room, they wanted to charge me again. The... More

The check-in was terrible: it took forever for them to find our booking, even though we were showing them our Agoda booking confirmation and reservation number. I think three or four people were involved. Finally, we were given a key card. We had booked a king bed room with a window, and first were given a room with no window... More

Even they speak little English, but they are ready to help! We forget a IPhone in the bus from Beijing, they were there to contact the bus station for us. A lot of thanks to them. We're very satisfait of our stay. Rooms very clean.

I stayed here for 3 nights. There was one person who could speak a little bit English by checking-in. None of the other staff could speak English, not a word. We got a room without window (Which we knew) but it was very nice. The room was big, 2 big beds and a minibar (which wasn't filled when we had... More

This hotel is pretty posh & the rooms are lovely, with robes/toiletries/etc. Very good value for money. Note however that it does not have many facilities listed on booking website- no gym, pool, bar. It does have an excellent restaurant. Fantastic food for very good prices. Probably the best food experience for us across China. Our only real complaint here... More
