We stayed in Datong for three nights and were very comfortable in this hotel. Wifi worked and it was clean. Staff were very helpful, though they did not speak much English. We managed just fine.the breakfast was excellent, including the latte and the food we had in the restauant very yummy. Hotel is lovely inside.

I stayed here for three nights while visiting China with a group of high school students. This is an excellent four-star hotel located right in the city center of Datong. It is located within walking distance of two main temples and the shopping area. Like the vast majority of hotels in China, the AC did not work but I was... More

Not sure I would overly recommend Datong but if you come this way this is the best hotel in the area. The restaurant is good but would highly recommend the 10 min walk around the corner to Fee Lin G restaurant. Get there early or make a reservation. It was packed on the weekend we where there but great food.... More

Spent three nights here. Datong has much less western influence than Beijing, so it was nice to be just about able to communicate in English in the hotel. Very clean and comfortable. We were on the sixth floor with the view from the window taking in the back car park and one of the old, unreconstructed parts of Datong-fascinating! The... More

This is an excellent hotel. The room was spacious and clean. It was bit dry; I should have use the humidifier in the room. Good selection of toiletries, good shower and hot water. Wifi worked fine. Their location is very practical as it is only a short taxi ride from the train station (10RMB). From the hotel you can also... More

Tried hard to accommodate even though few staff can competently speak English. Room chosen had sitting area, bathroom very well constructed and modern. Bed very comfortable. Only con was the difficulty controlling the temperature. The hotel is located in an area slated for reconstruction; the hotel probably located here as part of that effort Food choices could be expanded in... More

It takes around 10 minutes and 10 RMB by taxi from the railway station. Location is convenient because within the old city walls, walking distance to most of the city attractions and many restaurants. Good rooms, international breakfast with real Italian coffee, helpful staff. Business center staff can help you plan your visits, book a tour or hire a car.... More

Comfortable room - bed firm ( usual for China) All the usual commodities provided + a Humidifier provided in room - fantastic added bonus which was greatly appreciated Not an overly welcoming hotel - Run to tight deadlines - breakfast cleared away completely exactly at 9:30 finish time and the chamber maid put her head around our room door dead... Datong is not a popular tourist attraction. They recently started upgrading the town to becoming a tourist destination. However, there are hardly any English signs or people that speaks English. It's best to stay at Garden Hotel because most of the staff speaks English and very helpful. We took the Train ride here from Beijing to Datong and arrived around... More
