The problem with Qingdao is that is seems to lack the hotels oriented on foreign guests, at least in beach zone. Not being able to find more interestingly looking sea-view options in the web, we finally booked Donghai, but we didn’t feel too comfortable about it and were proven right. A weekend getaway from the big city, the beach front property is conveniently situated close to No. 1 and 2 beaches providing a great view, but only on the fogless/smogless days. My wife and I stayed here for 4 nights. Huge suite with 2 bedrooms with wonderful views. Houskeeeping was poor - dirty carpets, windows and scuffed furniture. If you want a quiet night make sure your room faces the sea otherwise you won't be able to open your windows for the traffic noise. Only instant coffee available and no western... More
