My girlfriend and I wanted to spend a nice weekend in Qingdao. Due to the beerfestival the prices for hotels were a bit steep and we decided for the room in the Old Observatory - and were utterly disappointed. We paid roughly 500RMB for the room per night, which is around 60 Euro or 80USD, and we got a dirty... More

I stayed at the old Observatory with a bunch of friends for a birthday weekend. It was a nice spot and the staff were really friendly. Momo the receptionist even took us out sightseeing one day. It's located in old town on the top of a hill...we had to ask the staff to order taxis for us as they don't... More

I booked the three-bed room, with a private bathroom for us. All I can say about this hostel that it's a really nice hostel. Since it's located on a hill, the view from the top outdoor bar is very amazing. There is also an indoor bar and restaurant. I came during the snowy winter, and I could see the snowy... More

Liked: They provided a nice map of the attractions, but that's about it. Disliked: This hostel was so hard to find. After the cab dropped me off at the bottom of the hill, I still had to stop and ask directions twice before I found it. The rooms smelled very strongly of mildew and the bed smelled very musty. There... More

better than average hostel in China, although not the best, but definitely a good choice in the city of qingdao. the location is probably it's downside, I actually thought it would be in the middle of the city, but it turned out to be on a hill a little far from the train station. great dog to play with. good... Its got loads of character. There is a great roof bar next to the observatory dome, which now houses a chill out area (and a telescope). Non guests had just come to the bar for the surroundings. The food is good but maybe slightly overpriced. The English breakfast was nice.

The Old observatory is the best choice in Qingdao, being located quite close to the city, but not in the chaos of the streets. The park its located in is very nice, and people do Tai Chi in the morning. The hostel was clean, but the showers are far from the rooms, all the way in the basement. Being there... More

happy to see a dog when I check in, Roger (I think it's his name) is a very nice dog, but a little sad all the time. staff is very helpful with our questions, but the communication sometimes went offline because some of the girl speak very limited English. the cleaning of this place can definitely improve more, it's not... This hostel is very nice, pleasant, with a very helpful team giving good informations and services. The possibility to have very nice holidays for a very cheap price. The best choice you can do in Qingdao.

Great accommodation in Qingdao! The staff very friendly and helpful and the room was clean and comfortable. The rooftop bar was very chilled, with great food and drink deals. It was a bit of a walk up the hill to reach the hostel, but once we arrived it was very warm and welcoming.
