The Jiangxi Hotel in Nanchang, where I stayed for a week, represents excellent value for Western tourists. The staff are courteous, very friendly, and although language is sometimes a problem, every effort was made to accomodate a non-Chinese speaker. We just returned from Nanchang and stayed at the Jiangxi hotel. We were adopting as were all the Americans we saw at the hotel. The staff at the hotel are definitely above average. Take advantage of the laundry service. It was very inexpensive and it was back promptly the same evening at 6 pm. The beds, however, are very hard.... more
