This hotel is awesome. Only the buildings could make a beauty scene in night and early morning. The room is huge and the beds are comfy. Toilet also got separate tub and bath. The indoor swimming pool is awesome. Feel so good to swim in warm water after one long cold day. I also went to the gym, very nice... More

Situated in a quiet location of the city, this hotel is good for a retreat in the urban oasis. Housed in a traditional layout behind an impressive facade styled like an ancient city wall, be awed by the grand entrance upon arrival. A cosy lobby with wooden pillars and beams welcomes you. Decorated in traditional Chinese style with day beds... More

I stayed here overnight and wish I could've stayed longer. the hotel is like a palace. The grounds are beautiful and are worth a tour. There is an Italian Resto on the premises called Avanti which is very good. the bread and white wine were fantastic! This hotel is awesome. The heat, however, in my room wasn't working full blast... The Hotel is constructed like an ancient Chinese city with a city wall as a facade. The inside uses wood as a theme. The rooms and furnishing are somewhat dated, but still comfortable and spacious. Breakfast is standard Chinese 5 star hotel Chinese breakfast. Quite acceptable. It has a modern gym with adequate equipment. Access is confusing from the street... More

We have been staying more than 10 years in this hotel - at that time being managed by another international hotel group. It is still a great hotel however in deep need of renovation of its rooms and corridors. While fitness facilities were great and up to latest standards, dining facility had been overrun by weekend guests although quality of... More

I don't want to be unobjective about this hotel because it has many great reviews but we just didn't feel comfortable there, you can get lost easily, it's a huge hotel in the form of an old castle but it's like a maze. I didn't like that to go to your room that you have to take 2 lifts, one... More

Have to admit I was expecting something better by looking at the site and to some pictures found on the net. The first impression is still grand, the outside structure is very typical and impressive, but when you enter the hotel you find some kind of old and cold huge place, where everything maybe was perfect 20 years ago. Hall,... More

A great hotel, I come very often. Overall, a great experience and a beautiful location next to the Panmen garden- however also a bit out of the way from anything else in Suzhou. Some areas of the hotel seem very worn, and need a bit of work. Service is good, and the staff is helpful.

We were in the midst of a whirl-wind do-it-yourself tour and wanted a no-hassle place to spend the night in Suzhou. Book a room in the "premium" section of this hotel (I forget what they call the premium wing, the "club" floor)? and loved it. We were super tired after a couple of days of touring and ended up just... More
