This hotel had a lovely walk-out private garden, and its peaceful gardens were wonderful for chilling out. I did order a cup of tea inside the hotel, and was charged the equivalent of $8.00 for a tea that I didn't really enjoy. The hotel's location was excellent - an easy walk to the famous Suzhou gardens and shopping district. The... More

After visiting the lingering gardens we got to this hotel and loved it. Beautifull garden, nice room, slippers hairdryer, toothbrush free wifi in your room and so on. Also the location is great, next to shopping mall and across the street from the lingering gardens.

I stayed there for over a week on a business trip. This hotel is close to Lingering Garden, relatively known to the local taxi drivers. Rooms are slightly aged, Chinese staff at front desk doesn't have much clue about booking by the marketing department. They are not using computer system, instead, they all have to go through slip of paper... More

We enjoyed 3 nights in the hotel. The staff always tried to help us even when their English was limited. Our room was clean and well equipped. Breakfast was plentiful with lots of choice. Our only problem was the heat - the AC didn't work and the noise level prohibited sleep with the windows open. We enjoyed the location of... More

Stayed here for a night part of our China Odyssey tour of Suzhou. From the outside the hotel facade is ok but inside and courtyard it is very well appointed and impressive. Check in & out is normal and we have found at most places that english is limited. Asked for non smoking room-extremely lucky if you ever get one!... More

As the name suggests, there are beautiful gardens here and the rooms are well appointed and very comfortable (including the bed), with wifi. Ask for a non-smoking room in the wing. The buffet breakfast is vast with a great choice of Chinese and basic Western choices. Recommended

Stayed here on a Wendy Wu tour. Lovely little place in a great location. Liked the gardens and the canal alongside the hotel. Plenty of places to stroll in the evening. Pity we could not have stayed another night. Would be happy to return as independent travellers.

Loved this place. Friendly and helpful staff, beautiful surroundings and a very smart bedroom. Location was great. Beds were a little hard but that's the Chinese way. Breakfast was chaotic and they need a designer to sort out the logistics of people movement but it wouldn't put me off. The Master of the Nets garden is nearby so you can... More

Every bit as lovely and well-situated as other reviews have indicated. Right in the center of the town, literally steps from the Master of the Nets garden and a RMN30 taxi ride from the Humble Administrators garden. A charming series of separate buildings within a gated, attractively-landscaped campus. Staff is friendly and willing to help – perhaps too willing (see... More
