The first thing that hits you as you enter the lobby is the overwhelming cigarette smell. The entire hotel reeks of cigarette and there is no respite from it. The rooms had no hot water, water barely heated to take the chill off of the cold water, you could not even call it lukewarm and we were there in January... More

The hotel is a bit shabby - definitely in need of a lick of paint here or there and some modern decor. But the bed ewas comfy, the heating worked (very important when it's -36c at night!!!) and the TV/shower/toilet were all servicable. Anyway, we were in Harbin for the ice festval, sowe knew we wouldnt be staying in the... More

I was fooled by the 4 stars rating and the Holiday name thinking it was a Holiday Inn. It is not, No one speaks any English at the reception, the carpets are filthy particularly those in the elevators, the room is smal, the bed is hard, the shower is awful with no recessed floor so the whole bathroom floor gets... It is a 4 star international hotel but the staff do not spea any english and there is no engish in the restuarant. How ever the staff are very friendly. The included... More

The location of this hotel is great, right by Zhongyang shopping street and other attractions. That's about the only great thing about this hotel, everything else is very average. Staff couldn't speak a word of English (except "passport") at check in. They also couldn't speak Russian and from what I could see this hotel is very popular with the Russians.... More

The room did not look clean to begin with and that night, my husband, eight-year-old child and myself felt something amissed when our bodies itched while lying on the mattresses. Further, the front-line customer service was not friendly at all and the breakfast buffet was dirty and horrible. We could hear noises made by guests along the corriders as well.... More

When I first arrived at about 6pm they claimed I had no booking. Five minutes later, after I had got on the phone to call my travel agent at home (an international mobile call at my expense), all of a sudden everything was OK - seemingly with no apparent extra effort by them. The bellboys demanded payment for carrying bags... More
