We had a disappointing three-day stay at the Yalong Bay Mangrove from May 30 to June 1. There were four of us: my wife and I, our 12-year-old daughter, and my mother-in-law. Check-in around midnight (delayed flight) was relatively fast, though they had to photocopy all our passports (for foreigners) and ID cards (for Chinese). ROOMS The room with a... More

I stayed here for 3 nights as part of a work conference. The first impressions of the bar and the outside areas lift your hopes for this hotel but then when you have to pay upfront at check in your suspicions are aroused. The good points are The rooms are large and the bathrooms very big with a large bath... More

We were here for the World Bridge Championships and as such the amenities were not key to our stay. Having said that, there is really nothing to crow about. Upon arriving at 4 PM, our room was still not ready. Drawer space was minimal if non-existent. As we were here for 12 days, we needed space to put any clothes... More

Stayed here for two night while visiting Sanya on business. The property has a nice view of the water but it is tired, the staff is not skilled for international visitors as their language skills are limited, the fitness center is down in the basement and dingy with very awkward & old machines, and the breakfast restaurant is fine but... Have been staying here couple of days. Overall resort experience just average. Room is clean, bed is comfortable but the service is very poor. There were quite a number of facilities but no activities. The beach bar for BQQ and hotpot buffet dinner just so-so. Did not live up to 5 star ambience. Price per person at 328-68++. Not value... My girlfriend and I stayed in Sanya for a week. We split our time between the Renaissance at HaiTangWan and Mangrove at Yalong Bay. My opinion of this hotel might be different if we had stayed here first but after staying at the Renaissance (which was cheaper) this place is a joke. The room is small and feels cramped. Doesn't... Excellent hotel, rooms, food top class, just a lack of English speakers outside of the front desk, but all in all they were very helpful Better rooms cost significantly more, but the hill side views were very good anyway Loved the outside shower on the balcony (enclosed of course) as well as one in the bathroom, great for when you... Depends on what you expect and want. If you want a place that is geared to Western tourists and has US standards, then this is not it. The hotel caters almost exclusively to Chinese internal tourists, and so the food etc is focussed on their expectations. The wifi is quite good and fast and the TV has English channels. There... My husband and I are living in China and we have travelled in Thailand and Malaysia best beaches so when I booked that resort, we had low expectations before going to Hainan. We booked the garden-view as we were outside the entire day anyway. PROS: Balinese style resort which makes it much more exotic and pleasant than those high –class... More

Even though they call themselves 5 star hotel, it is nothing like it. The price was ridiculous (300 US dollars/room), but it was high season when I went so I kind of have not much of problem. But everything of this hotel is a disappointment. The pool was SO dirty, filled with sand and leaves. No body cleaned it. There... More
