Location It was quite centrally located though I'm not sure if it's really city center. There are some shops-local delicacy, convenience store, food shops towards the right of the hotel and restaurants across the road. Room I got the room with a counter top, small living area and bed area-something like a service apartment. Could be a little noisy with... More

After staying in Sanya for a few days, we traveled to Haikou for a day. Stayed here and was not at all impressed! Walking into the room, I questioned if it had even been cleaned. There were coffee stains on the counter and smelled of mold. The bathroom shower had mold in the tiles and the shower door did not... More

Location Somewhere in Haikou city, quite a built up area. Some shops, marts and KFC within walking distance. From airport about 30 minutes by car. Room Room is very Chinese conservative decor. Medium size that offers a queen size bed, quite comfortable but quite soft. Bedside tables includes with phone and basic alarm clock. Excellent lighting switches though so one... More

Great value and for the money we paid, I was pleasantly surprised by the service and the amenities on offer. The staff on duty were most helpful and offered us helpful tips on getting around, eating at the right places and of course exploring this city. Limited English but at least they tried their best. The location is convenient and... More

For less than 500RMB/night, this hotel serves the purpose for business. For pleasure/vacation, I will NOT choose this hotel for its "local" atmosphere. (Possible discomfort) 1) Local "chaotic" atmosphere with NO "western places" (starbucks, fast-foods, restanrants) in the proximity. 2) Breakfast buffet costs 88RMB (I did not try it and thus not sure about the quality) 3) The toilet cover... After spending 3 nights in sanya's marriott and spa resort, we stayed for 1 night at this hotel before catching our flight back to sg. We were pleasantly surprised that service wise, they were up to par with marriott. The front desk check in lady spoke equal or better english to the marriott's, and they actually have a concierge, while... More

After readng other reviews I chose this hotel and was very disappointed. It did not match the reviews. Our rooms were small and worn out. They are in need of updating. My non-smoking room had burns and stains in the carpet. The whole place seemed like it had seen better days. One look at the carpet and I was grossed... More

Stayed here for our golf game outside Mission Hill. Was offered Oscar Hotel but opted for this as it is a "5-star". Seemed that all the international 5-stars are all in Sanya and this is supposed to be the best. Upon arrival at the lobby, I know it is not to be. A very typical china check-in lobby and coffee... I highly recommend the Mingguang Hotel for stays in Haikou. It's among the best hotels I have ever stayed in! The service is quite good with many small touches. For example, there is always someone at the elevators to push the button you as you are walking from the lobby to the hotel - so there is an elevator waiting... More
