We stayed in room 1621 of the Zhongshan International Hotel (Chinese: 中山國際酒店). We asked for and were lucky to get a nonsmoker's room. The room has five power outlets (3 US/China style outlets, 1 Hong Kong style, and one China style) and one shaver outlet in the bathroom. The door is opened with an electronic key card and has two... This is an old hotel but refurbished.Location wise not convenient for shopping except to,nearby Walking Street where one can purchase local products. Everywhere else you need to commute by taxi. Ideal location for those having to travel to the nearby industrial estate in Xi District. The room that I was allocated ( 410 ) was newly refurbished and very spacious.Linen were... More

12/02/ 2013. I frequently stay at the ZIH. I was just there for 2 nightls last week. The staff is great. The room prices are very good. You must try the buffet dinner on the top floor revolving restaurant which shows off the nighttime city lights and river. What I mostly like is the hotel uses bank rates to exchange... More

I should have noted the 5th star crossed out at the reception desk... an old hotel with old dated batthroom and barely 4 star... no separate shower and a squeeze all for shampoo etc. Also a stinking room (smoker) which we were unable to change has made this the first and last stay here. Of course the room rates said... More

This property is very nice with free internet and very nice rooms on the executive floor. My room had a very large bathroom with separate tub and shower. There was a desk, loveseat, cocktail table, and a large widescreen TV mounted on the wall. Be sure to book a room on the executive floor to have an updated room. Although... More

It is centrally located in the center of the world's biggest lighting market & in the night it really looks very beautiful, infact the entire Guzhen town looks very beautiful with those lights in the night. Though its an old hotel but quite maintained & is connected to the market & few food joints. The only thing that made me... More

This is the third time I am staying at this hotel. Its very well maintained, the amenities available to the guest is absolutely 5 star. The rates are very reasonable considering equivalent hotels in other towns in China. Very centrally located with a supermarket, spa, KFC all within an annex building. As is the case with other hotels in China,... More

The Zhongshan International was the first high-end hotel in town, now surpassed by several others in the city. The hotel retains many of the 5 star characteristics, even if it is showing its wear. The lobby is large and impressive and it has a friendly English speaking front desk. My rate was low, so there was an immediate up-sell to... More

Arrived with colleagues having booked 4no. non-smoking rooms At check-in we were told rooms had been upgraded - excellent! However when we arrived at rooms all were smoking rooms and smelt very bad of cigarettes So we contacted reception and explained (fortunately one of our group was Chinese) reception sent bellboys who simply took the ashtrays away! we explained this...
