This is one of the best hotels I have stayed in. Courteous staff, good restaurant and lounge and brand new rooms. They exchange my money at the going rate without any commission. I took a bus from Hong Kong to Huanggang border crossing, took a cab once past immigration and I think I arrived at the hotel in under 10 minutes. This is certainly the best Shangri La I have stayed in. Everything about this hotel is excellent, you cannot be disappointed with it in anyway. ( slight construction noise is a nuisance but I would stay here again whilst it is going on ) I stayed on the Horizon floor and the lounge is absolutely amazing..... Certainly the No: 1... more

I've probably stayed in 100s of hotels in my life, and if not for the construction next door, I would have rated this THE best hotel I've ever stayed in. Huge rooms, spectacular service and great restaurants. more

I had to laugh when I saw the other review about "Jurassic Park" outside because that is what it sounds like. Fortunately our meeting was big enough to have the hotel tell the construction folks working on the adjacent train station to stop working at night, otherwise the noise goes on at all hours. We were staying in Deluxe Room (a small suite) in this new hotel in late Nov/2008. It has only been soft opening and it still far way from done. Room is really nice.
