A reasonably-priced, locally-managed hotel. It's clean, friendly, and well-managed. The staff are helpful. The beds and pillows are surprisingly high-end. Alas, it's also an increasingly tired hotel - carpets are worn, wood is fading, store fronts are vacant. It sort of feels like a place headed in the very wrong direction. I also found the breakfast to be sub-par -... More

Our group of 30 Facebook Teochew friends and acquaintances (sharing a common interest in authentic Teochew cuisine and street food) visited the Chaoshan region (Chaozhou, Shantou, Jieyang and Jiedong) and stayed three nights at this lovely hotel. The Shantou JunHua Haiyi Hotel (formerly the Meritus Shanyou Hotel) is located in the heart of Shantou City. Rooms are large, clean and... More

This is an very comfortable hotel excellent location. Highly recommend it. You need 45 minutes in normal traffic to airport or fast railway station. I travel by fast train which very good and efficient .

stayed for three nights at this hotel, staff at there helped us to booked a car for travel around Shantou. I suppose it is one of the best hotel in Shantou (beside Sheraton Shantou). The room (16th floor) itself were tidy, quiet and clean. Free wifi available with good connection speed. Bed were comfortable however there weren't BBC and CNN... More

We moved to this hotel after a night stay at a local hotel which we dont really like. This hotel is clean, has a gym and indoor pool. Theres happy hour deal from 4pm to 7pm, on beer at ground level lounge which is very cosy and good for business meet up. The massage parlour is reasonable priced and you... More

Had a stay of 2 weeks. Overall was satisfactory. The rooms were newly renovated, neat and well equipped (they provided washing powder as amenities). Each room got its own router for wired and wifi internet connection. The staff were helpful and fast responding. But the other facilities, such as restaurant and sports centre should be avoided. The Chinese restaurant was... More

Overall, my stay at the Junhua was good. With one exception, all staff were extremely courteous and helpful. Rooms and bedding were clean (except the rugs, which looked quite tired and a bit stained). Room service dinner one night came quickly. The Chinese porridge was good. The caesar salad was OK, but did not taste like a Caesar. It was... More

The Hotel like most reviews had mentioned stands on a busy street. We were there on a 6days family trip; stayed in Meritus for 2 nights. Criteria for the agency is to choose hotels that have modern facilities and have wifi in the room. Comparing to hotels we stayed in the rest of the trip i.e. Chaozhou city, this is... More

I stayed 3 nights on business, and my biggest complaint is the incredibly hard bed. The restaurant in the lobby had the incredibly slow ala carte dinner service - sometimes a colleague would only get their food after the rest of us had eaten. The food was inconsistent too. Free wifi that is easy to access. If it was my... More
