The Nasa DC-8 group spent 6 weeks operating from Punta Areanas studying the Antarctic. The entire group (40+) stayed at the Diego de Almagro, and it was a wonderful stay. The Hotel is modern with fair sized rooms. Dinner menu is excellent but breakfast is mediocre. WiFi in the rooms vary and very unreliable. Check in staff are pleasant and helpful, they speak good english. The swimming pool is not great but sauna is good. The gym is lacking in facilities, a treadmill would be a bonus. more
