My friends and I arrived at this hostel after 4 days of trekking in Torres del Paine, and it was a great place for us to relax. Firstly, the location is great, with several restaurants nearby and the museum right across the street. It's about a 20-minute ride from the airport, and the staff were nice enough to arrange an... We are confused as to why this hostel has such great reviews .. It was pretty terrible. For example; the bathrooms were pretty dirty, often without toilet roll and soap, the kitchen smelt, it was the first hostel I've stayed in in South America NOT to provide breakfast, the woman who owns it is pretty useless; e.g. When we asked... A friend and I stayed here on a backpacking trip in November. It's a fine hostal for what it is, (cheap and nobody will bother you) but don't go in expecting comfort or convenience. The rooms are tiny and accommodations are non-existent, with the exception of a pretty good bathroom. The hostal is relatively clean, the guests were surly and... More

It is a nice and clean place, very close to the main square, but is too noisy! People running around 24/7 and you can hear absolutely everything and the wooden floors do not help. The staff is nice and the price is fine.

We stayed at this hostel for 1 night and we were not really happy with it. The sheets did seem clean, but the rooms could definitely use a makeover. The wallpaper was starting to come off in our rooms and the matresses were not exactly comfortable. The sanitary rooms were not very clean and apart from one rather old as... More

I booked into Hostal Patagonia after checking out of a very cold hostel. Staff were friendly and I was relieved to be shown to a warm room with own bathroom with a great, warm shower - and fluffy white towels. The rooms were cleaned well daily. My room was at the back of the hostal and there were no problems... More

Nice place to stay - Clean; good location in Punta Arenas; nice breakfast; helpful and friendly staff. Only downside was street noise - sounded like cars racing the two Saturday nights I spent there (perhaps its quieter on weekdays...). Overall was good base for brief stop in the city

First we stayed in a room that view the street, and was next to the stairs, so i woke up by people arriving late as the wooden stairs makes noise, and later also by people doing race car in the street. But beside the noise, the place was good, and people very nice. The breakfast was also good.

My experience at this hostal was great! I found the city of Punta Arenas to be a perfect starting point for many fun adventures. Tierra del fuego is just across the stretch. While you can see it from the city, it does take a little doing to get there. Torres del Paine is not far either. I chose to hitch... More

Hostal Patagonia has a great atmosphere for traveling people, and the staff is very attentive and helpful, especially with setting up tours in the Punta Arenas and Torres del Paine areas. Overall great place to stay, highly recommended.
