after a long set of flights the perfect hotel checks you in fast, is clean and easy. Ilaia is absolutely perfect for the situation. It's got a great elevated location with ocean views, is close to the town center and is exceptionally maintained. Staff is exceptional. Bottom line, when in Punta Arenas this is the perfect place.

We stayed at Ilaia Hotel for three nights, before and after visiting Torres del Paine National Park. From the first moment we contacted Ilaia Hotel, it was clear that it was in a league of its own. Juanita and Elena at the hotel answered all of my questions (how to get to the hotel from the airport? which penguin tours... More

The Ilaia Hotel is unique. I have traveled the world over the past 35 years and will now rate this one as one of my favorites. It is small, quaint, clean, modern, organic, wholesome, friendly, quiet, comfortable. The decor takes me to 1965 Sweden, very "mod" and cheerful. The rooms are sparse, but adequate. The toiletries as well as breakfast... More

I agree with all the other reviews - the welcome, hotel, room and breakfast were all excellent. Special mention also needs to go to the shower which was just the best ever. The hotel is a little way from the centre but easily walkable. And it is very near the bus station for Bus Fernandez if you are coming from... More

This is the most charming and welcoming place we've been in Chile - we absolutely loved it. From the delightful sisters welcoming us in a very personable way, to the deco in the common rooms (the sitting room on the top floor with views over the city is wonderful), to the bedroom (warm and cozy, wood everywhere, contemporary look), to... Friendly staff, nice rooms, good wifi, and the best breakfast I had in entire Patagonia stay. Excellent hotel, especially if you're into the whole yoga/zen sort of thing. I am not, but my wife is. Would stay here again.

We only stayed at the Ilaia for one night, arriving very late from Calama and leaving very early to get out to Isla Magdalena; however, in that short time the Ilaia made a tremendous impression. They arranged a transfer from the airport, someone was there to greet us at the hotel in the middle of the night, the room was... More

We stayed in this hotel. The service is really good, people are very nice, breakfast was good, rooms had a convenient size and were clean and modern. I believe it was a little expensive but its a good option if you need a place in Punta Arenas.

Love the Ilaia. Juanita and her sister are the friendliest, most welcoming hosts you could wish for, and never stop smiling. The glass-enclosed rest-&-relaxation room on the roof is a great place to unwind with a cup of tea after a day out in the cold wind, and offers great views across to Tierra del Fuego. The rooms are spotless... More

We arrived here very late one night after spending 10 days in Torres del Paine hiking. We were sooooooooo looking forward to a hot shower and soft bed. Upon arriving the main water line was under repair so we had to wait until morning for that shower. Not the hotel's fault, but they were very apologetic. Hotel is very easy... More
