The Hotel Rey Don Felipe was an excellent choice for us on our short layover in Punta Arenas before and after heading to Ecocamp at Torres del Paine National Park. The staff at the hotel were extremely cordial and helpful. They spoke English, which was good for me because my Spanish is a bit limited. Not only were they very... More

This property is used by Antarctica XXI as its base for departure to the ice. A-XXI and hotel reception staff excellent, v helpful. Rooms clean & tidy. Breakfast (at least for A-XXI pax) quite limited. Bar staff need lessons in customer relations - even allowing for my v limited Spanish. Well located only2 blocks form main street. Some rooms not... I was given room 301 at the end of the hotel and internet was sporadic and slow. The room however was pleasantly furnished and spacious. The barman however could have done with some service provision tips - surly would be the term I would use. Toaster broke down at breakfast and no replacement available but on the whole the hotel... Excelent hotel in a quiet area for a great price (about two blocks from the center). Everything clean, and almost new. Staff was servicial and nice. Breakfast included. Try the "calzones rotos" in the breakfast, a local pastry, won't be dissapointed.

We stayed one night on two separate occasions. The hotel is well located and the staff are very helpful and friendly. The breakfast is great with lots of lovely fresh fruit which we have craved since being in SA. It is good value at US$152 for a twin room and even better value if you can get a discount of... More

We stayed at Rey Don Felipe twice - before and after trekking at Torres Del Paine National Park. It was an excellent choice - clean, well-situated and with friendly, helpful staff. The breakfasts were standard fare for most hotels in Chile. The one evening meal we had there was okay after a long day of travelling when all we wanted... More

Stayed here after treking in Patagonia. While the rooms are basic, they are very clean and adequate, and the location can't be beat -- a few minutes to the main square. The hotel was extremely quiet, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Sad to say we had to miss the breakfast, but if traveling in this region again,... More

I just go back from Patagonia and I’ve been in Punta Arenas for the 4th time and as well as of the others times I remained lodged in the HRDF. That is a perfect place to stay: silent, calm, with a very clean and confortable rooms and wonderful, friendly and cooperative staff. The hotel was conveniently located close to the... More

Well, it is just a bit more than the standard business hotel but it tries to look like it is more upscale. The rooms are big and clean but without much character. It is in a good location and it has a private parking for travellers with their own transport. We guess that it is a hotel for larger groups.... More

The hotel is in a good location, only a couple of blocks from the main square, and it provides clean, basic rooms that are reasonably quiet (although I kept my earplugs close to the bed). The staff were helpful with info about tours and with arranging taxi pick up. I didn't mind the wall-mounted soap dispensers near the shower and... More
