We originally booked the Hostal La Estancia to "slum it" a bit and save some money, but we ended up enjoying our stay tremendously and highly recommend this place for a simple, clean, and cheap place to stay in Punta Arenas while in transit to other places in Patagonia.

Rooms were fairly basic, but the beds were comfortable and there was TV in each private room with satellite TV which was nice since there is really nothing much to do in Punta Arenas. Comforters had some grease stains occasionally, but the sheets were very clean. Shared bathrooms were adequate and clean (though not especially fancy) with great water pressure in the shower. Breakfast was included in the rate and was pretty good and simple. There were also 2 computers available with FREE internet and skype which was really nice.
