Walking into the Hotel Saltos del Paine is like taking a trip back in time a decade or two…not old enough to feel "vintage," but much too old to feel like anyone has given much though to upgrading this hotel in far too long. Putting the decor (and a few other room defects, like a crack in the bathroom mirror)... More

Based on trip advisor reviews we would never have booked this and for good reason - for $150 per night it is grim. It was booked for us by Patagonia Australis also known as Patagonia Antarctica (see Torres del Paine review) as part of a larger $4000 trekking trip and it gave a very poor impression. Given Puerto Natales isn't a huge town so - as with most places the location is very central (near the water and the main street). plenty of dining options around the area too. The hotel was a bit shabby but the rooms were clean, generously sized, with excellent drought-inducing showers with plenty of hot water. The staff were very sweet... More
