My room was run down. Years of water spilling over from the bathroom had turned the rug moldy. The room was overpriced but I don't think there was any price I would have been happy. The included breakfast was ok but nothing special. The reception was friendly but could not make up for the room condition.

If you like being right on the beach and going to sleep to the sound of the surf, this is great. Room nice and spacious with place to work (free WiFi) although had to change rooms when aircon didn't work in first room. Kitchen was also undergoing some refurbishment so meals not available one day and limited the next but... More

I wanted a 'better' hotel than Arica Hotel that I used a few days previously, big mistake. I write this from the restaurant where I feel I am intruding, staff cannot concentrate on Facebook when residents drop in! I wanted a light lunch with a couple of beers but was offered a 3 course 'executive' menu, the only food available.... More

The location of the hotel is very good, being on the beach. The rooms are large but they are showing their age. The first room we had, had an extremely noisily airco unit. Changed to another room where it was fine, however, I am sure that we were not the first to complain about the unit. they really need to... More

Hotel is located right on the beach with lovely views from the room however you will need to take a taxi into town (about £2 each way) and the staff especially in the restaurant are very unfriendly!! Overall nice hotel but not much personality and you get the feeling the restaurant staff are glad to see the back of you!

My wife and I stayed for several nights in this skyscraper block as near to Chinchorro Beach as physically possible. The spacious room was on the 8th floor and had excellent views from two sides. Clean, comfortable and well-equipped, with a good en-suite. Food and service were very good. It helps to make an attempt to speak Spanish.

For Arica this Hotel is excellent. The staff are very accommodating, the rooms are clean and the view of the ocean is wonderful. I have been to Arica many times and this trip was made the best because of our accommodations. Ask for an ocean view on the 9th floor and you won't be disappointed. Ask for the south end... More

Very helpful staff, they could not have tried any harder to help with our disorganised trip. Superb italian restaurant down the road, about 5/10 mobs walk along seafront. Get a room overlooking the sea. Good breakfast but a lot of plate crashing, cutlery noise from.waiter.

Diego de Almagro is a hotel that could be outstanding but the lacklustre staff is holding it back. The staff is very cold towards North American travellers and in a small northern town assistance is a must! The hotel is very overpriced despite low demand in the area. Don't be lured in by the pool and the fancy lobby. Support... More

We've had to go to Arica twice now, both times for work not tourism (and in all honesty, with so much to see in Chile, I would never put Arica on the bucket list). The first time we went we didn't have a car and stayed at the El Paso Park (a fairly grim 2 star at best); this time... More
