Man, we lucked out with this joint in Siem Reap. We found it on sale on some consolidator website (hotels.com???) and paid about USD65 in early June. The hotel lobby is quite grand and comfortable. The bell staff takes your bags immediately and the front desk asks you to sit and brings the applicable paper work to you. (Nice touch.)... more

I visited Siem Reap with 2 other friends for a total of 7 days and, while there are no shortage of hotels in Siem Reap and we considered staying at FCC and Hotel de la Paix, both of which are decidedly more 'upmarket' than the Tara. But we decided to stay at the Tara Angkor because we got an extremely... more

Overall - we were pleased. Just a few things that bothered us. The hotel does not provide a free transport shuttle to/from the airport. Expect to pay US$7 hiring a taxi when you get outside the airport. The hotel charges US$9 (when I called ahead to check). Considering that this is a 4-star hotel, and especially when this is low-season... more

We stayed at the Tara from the 25th-28th June for a 3 day stay before flying onto China. We had looked at the reviews before booking and all seemed favourable. As soon as we entered the hotel we knew we had made the right choice, the service we received from beginning to the time we left was exceptional. The hotel... more

Me and my gf was there for 2 nights, booked through www.asiarooms.com, where there are some options for us to choose from, e.g late checkout, non-smoking room, high levels etc. We selected a few, 1 of which was the "pls take note couple is on honeymoon", my apologies, I know I misinterpreted the meaning of honeymoon, I thought it would... more

Reading everyone else's reviews, I wonder if we actually stayed in the same hotel! The Tara Angkor we experienced was a 3* at best and although the lobby, pool and gym are to a reasonable standard, the rooms were disappointing. Compared to hotels of the same standard in Malaysia and Thailand of the same rating, the Tara was disappointing with... more

Beautiful lobby, wonderful room and very comfortable bed, clean and beautiful bathrooms - very roomy with walk-in shower and huge tub. Staff were most gracious, helpful and always quick with all requests. Some of the best meals I have had in Asia were there - try the deep-fried mangoes with rapsberry sauce and ice-cream!! The walkway to the pool at... more

We thoroughly enjoyed our three night stay at the Tara Angkor. It is a convenient location close to the Temples of Angkor Park. The deluxe room was very comfortable and the bathroom was 5 star. Hotel staff was friendly and attentive. The included breakfast buffet was excellent. Dinner at the hotel was good, too, albeit service a little slow (one... more

Location: very close located to the temples of Angkor. A bit too far away from city center but this isn't the main attraction anyway. Staff / Service: fantastic service - very kind staff!!! Room was well equipped - big and clean. more
