We stayed for one night at Sala Bai whilst visiting Angkor Wat. We were pleased to find that there were spare rooms (there are only four), as we had read about this hotel/school before we started our trip and thought it sounded great. Sala Bai takes in around 100 underprivileged local kids each year and teaches them various different skills... More

We stayed - and ate one lunch - at Sala Bai during our two days in Siem Reap and were delighted with our choice. The room was simple (shower hose only) but very clean, cool and comfortable, with trainee staff making up beds to perfection! With on-site school and training, the whole set-up exudes a wonderful, optimistic atmosphere full of... More

On a first trip to Siem Reap, we picked out Sala Bai from tripadviser. All kudos given by earlier reviewers was confirmed by our experience. Fantastic choice! The young hospitality industry students here are absolutely charming, and while they are learning-by-doing as part of their course, they do a great job (staffing front reception, cooking, serving, cleaning etc|) and are well-supported... We had two meals at the school's restaurant in November when we were there for a charity event. Claude, the director, gave us a warm welcome, and the staff and students were charming & helpful. Plus the food was delicious. The place was packed both times we were there, so reservations are perhaps to be recommended.

We stayed in the twin bed room - maybe should have splashed for the suite - ours was small, bathroom tiny and no decorations BUT spotlessly clean. AC and fan were great. I think those of us past our backpacker prime would appreciate the value and cleanliness of it :). The staff is lovely and the fact it is a... More

I had a really pleasant stay in the Hotel School! The students are very enthusiastic and do their utmost to help you around. The room was very clean with white crisp bedlinen. Wifi was available and had a strong signal in the room.

On the behalf of the Sala Baï students, thank you very much for this comment. They are very happy to have such positive feedback on their quality of service. They are only at the beginning on their one-year training but so motivated to learn as quick as possible. We will be very glad to welcome you again at Sala Baï... More

We decided to stop at a new restaurant for lunch, Sala Bai. The restaurant had opened two days before we visited it and you never would have known that this restaurant is used to train young Cambodians. We met Claude, the director, who explained how an NGO offers scholarships to 100 poor Cambodians so they can come to Siem Reap... More

Thank you very much Leslie for your comment! Considering that we are at the very beginning of our training year, the students have still a long way to learn but your comment is very encouraging, and we have no doubt that this new intake will be a very good one! Come back whenever you want, it will be always a... More

I stayed at the Sala Bai in March this year. What is my single BIG REGRET? It is that I'm returning to Siem Reap in September and that's during the time the Sala Bai is closed to the public while they start a new student intake. I will be forced to stay somewhere OTHER than this wonderful place. Very disappointed!... More

Enjoyed 5 nights in the suite. Quiet and secure location, short walk to main streets. housekeeping immaculate including a turndown service as well. Great cause and great students. You get to enjoy the daily operation of the school, my favourite was coming down for breakfast and then watching the students with flag and national anthem followed by a short demonstration... More

I stayed at Sala Bai for 9 perfect days. I visited two rooms and both were sparklingly clean. On my first day, I got my laundry done for the very same day. Check-in was warm and efficient; one of the students helped me to bring my bags to my room. The hotel itself is very quiet because it's not directly... More
