I have stayed at secrets twice now. Both times I got a clean (if spartan) room and great service from the staff. This is more of a B&B than hotel - staff is friendly and it feels more like a family run place than an anonymous hotel. While it had been more than a year between my visits, the staff... more

We stayed for 6 nights at Secret of the Elephants in Feb. 2009 & found that for the price that we were paying we could have found a way better place in Siem Reap. On the plus side, the staff was great, the food was excellent. On the down side, the overdecorating tries to hide the ageing & lack of... more

Arrived fairly late at night with no reservation, but luckily there was a room available. Was absolutely entranced by this little jewel of a hotel. The propriator offered to cook us a meal, which was delicious. We had the Burma room upstairs, which has a beautiful spacious balcony and use of a large oriental style sitting room, and a large shower room. The decor was fabulous, with huge... more

I stayed at Secrets of Elephants for several nights in January 2008. It is a lovely, homestay-style experience . The rooms are great, the food is wonderful and the staff are sincere and friendly. I cannot recommend this place highly enough if you are looking for a change from the 4-5 star hotel stay. I hired the driver who collected... more

I stayed in May 2002 and loved it. The people were nice - Babette and her partner. They arranged a tuk tuk driver for me who was also lovely. Food was great. I liked that it was on the airport road at the time because it was quieter. Though it seems to have built up more on that road now. more

We had a wonderful stay at this small hotel. Unlike cookie-cutter hotels that are springing up like mushrooms all over Siem Reap, this hotel has loads of charm. In terms of decor (not conveniences), it gives you the feel of Indochina of early to mid-1900s: wooden furniture, rugs, cushions, jars, buddha statues, terrace, lush vegitation all around, etc. My 13... more

We arranged for pick-up from airport, which was perfect, there was someone there to meet us & we were dropped straight to hotel. The hotel is a serious disappointment we had a twin room, however, it had no window, was full of mosquitoes, the shower room was in the bedroom but the floor was strewn with pebbles for effect &... more

Despite email confirmation of airport pickup and a room booking, we arrived at Siem Reap airport late afternoon 31st December 2005 to find no driver waiting. After making our own way to Secrets of Elephants Inn, they denied that they had a booking for us - not so good as we were a family travelling with two children aged 4... more

My family went to cambodia 4 years ago this Christmas and the fondest memory we have of the country is this bed and breakfast. No, we did not have ensuite baths but the bath we used upstairs was very charming - very colorful and the sink was made from a flower pot. The husband was a designer from France. We... more
