Staying at Smiley's Guest House with a school group travelling Cambodia and Thailand, it was everything we required. We had a bed to sleep in, tidy rooms, rooms were secure and we also had a toilet and a shower. When chosing to stay at a guest house this is all we required. We found Smileys because we had previously stayed... more

I got to Smiley's through a Cambodian friend and i experienced that the service wasn't really nice just from the beginning. First, they said on the phone that they would pick me up, but no one came. later i figured out that the guy who should have picked us up forgot about it, because he was to drunk. The food... more

I have been traveling around Asia for the last ten months and I have never come across such a horrendous level of service. We booked our stay at Smileys through our guest house in Phnom Phen and were picked up by a slightly moody guy on arrival. The actual guest house is set in a beautiful garden and you'd be... more

Well I have just read the review below and strongly disagree, we were recommended Smileys by our friends that had passed through about 3 weeks earlier. We arrived and found the place to be VERY nice, with very friendly people (fair enough the receptionist can have a bit of a sulky face but smile at her and despite working 12... more

Well my review is a bit late in coming, but it is unlikely that the service would have improved given the attitude displayed by the management and the fact that it is family run. I chose Smiley's on the recommendation of some English travellers I met while staying in Phenon Phen. The first warning should have been when I got... more

We arrived at Smiely's and had a pretty poor reception from the reception who were less than smiley. Subsequenly got a big ensuite room for about $4 a night which was great. After travelling the world for a year I have to say this is probably the best room we had in terms of best price and quality and would... more

On my recent trip to Siem Reap I stayed at Smiley's Guesthouse. I found it to be quite good value - air conditioning, cable TV for $15 a night. The restaurant is very civilised, and those ice cold drinks really hit the spot. The staff were very friendly and made me feel most welcome. Both check in and check out... more

I've stayed with smileys on numerous times, over numerous years and in numerous locations. I've found them second to none really, though on my last trip to their siam reap place I did find the staff to be a little surly, but then I guess for what they earn, I guess I'd be a little surly too. The motodop dudes... more

I found Smiley's Guesthouse decidedly un-Smiley. The staff are unfriendly and dismissive. The rooms are a bit grubby and vary in standard even if you're paying the same prices. The layout of the hotel is nice, colonial style with a pond in the middle and it's true their amok is delicious, but that aside, the whole place is devoid of... more
