Eat out. Grubby rooms ridiculous hand basins almost impossible to wet shave. Bar prices severe - drink out Casual staff Many better in town Hotel de la paix looked good - went for a drink and also to there restaurant near pub street AHA great fusion cooking Raffles in town would be our choice if booking again

We planned to come here for 2 nights, and ended up staying for a week. The hotel takes your breath away the minute you walk in. Truly well blended to Siem Reap. Off a main road but a lush greenery. The pool was incredible, with plenty of loungers. The room (standard) was one of the most imaginatively decorated rooms I... More

We have stayed here many, many times, and have always loved it . When we come in , it is like coming home. You have the best pool in SE Asia, lovely to come to after a long hot day. Everything was just perfect, the room--we stayed in one of the new ones, just fantastic---- the staff, the Spa. You... More

We checked in with our friends only to find we had been "upgraded" to a poolside room. We went to see our friends room which was a riverside room, what they had omitted to say was that there was a very busy road between the room and the rather muddy looking river/canal. Lots of stamping of feet got our friends... More

We liked the location, the swimming pool and the staff attitude but disliked.... The over-priced food which was not particularly well cooked. When we spoke to staff about it, a reduction was made from the bill but we'd rather have had a tender steak and noodles which had not stuck together in a clump. Mosquitoes - you are given a... More

My wife and I stayed at La Residence d’Angkor whilst we were on a ‘Cox & Kings’ tailor made tour of Vietnam and Cambodia, we booked the tour through ‘The Cruise Line’. The local ground agents were ‘Trails of Indochina’. Apart from the long haul Thai Airways flights being forty minutes late on the outbound and one hour late on... More

We had a hard time deciding between staying here and the Hotel de la Paix. After our trip to Siem Reap, I'm delighted that we chose the Residence as our SR home for 5 nights. The hotel is stunning in an incredibly understated way. The Hotel de la Paix stands out as a colossal hotel at a busy intersection. It... More

Siem Reap was the first leg of a three stage trip to the far east which also included a cruise round the Andaman coast and a few days in a resort complex in Thailand. Recommended by friends we were not disappointed. We booked directly with the hotel and got an excellent rate which included a full day private tour with... More

Everything about this small gem was exceptional: exquisite food, charming and gracious staff, outstanding service, wonderful rooms/plantings/pool/architecture. Comfortable, classy and tranquil, it provided a refuge from the heat and dust of downtown Siemp Reap. They set us up with a wonderful day-long tour of the temples, including Angkor Wat and some less visited (and much quieter) ruins off the beaten... More
