Our base camp was Asia, the second camp was Cambodia, the third one was Siem Reap and the forth was Samatika Butique Hotel. Luckily we didn’t have such as tragic fate as the mountaineers in Nepal, but we didn’t intend to climb to Mt Everest, only the Angkor temples. This hotel was listed as a Quantas hotel; this is how... The hotel is not close to the center but it is in a walking distance and they offer a free tuk-tuk. They have a nice swimming pool. It is good to relax near it after a day in Angkor. They offer a good breakfast for free. I guess this is more than enough to feel yourself comfortable. I would definitely... More

Samatika is a lesson in good intentions but bad management. The pool has been endlessly harped as one of the highlights of this hotel, but the washrooms are infested with visible mold, probably due to being combined with the shower in the small, unventilated room. The closet surfaces all retained a thin layer of dust upon check-in, and didn't change... More

We found this through Qantas Hotels and the price was excellent (A$36 about US$27 per night including breakfast and 2-way transfer to airport). The room was not big (we stayed in the older section) but it had everything we needed and there were even amenities like shampoo. etc. There is a swimming pool with an adjacent bar. The problem is... We just checked in a few hours ago, good first impression as we were picked up at the bus station for free with tuk tuk, but then it all goes down hill from there, the pool is no more than 10 feet wide and knee hight in depth, we were shown to our room which was only a standard and... More

My wife and I will always have fond memories of our stay in Siem Reap, mainly because of the hotel experience we had at Samatika. We were quire satisfied with the standard of our room and found it comfortable and always clean. The meals were nice and breakfasts and dinner. outdoors by the pool just lovely. By far we enjoyed... We stayed there for 6 nights, booked through booking.com. The description was exactly like in reality. Warm welcome, exceptionally friendly staff, beautiful, well kept garden and pool. Room tastefully decorated, clean. Quiet, away from the noisy, big resorts. A bit of noise from the neighboring wood carving shop, but instead of taking it as a disturbance, go over, talk to... More

This place is near the river that runs along the city of Siam Reap. It is near Road 60 that goes towards Ankor Wat. I'd say, the location is perfect for people who wants a peaceful place where it is just a 10 minute tuktuk ride to public street. My boyfriend and I stayed here for 4 days for New... More

Normally I don't write mean reviews, but the one night at Samatika was just horrible. All the pictures on this page are real. They are very much taken from the place, but at the same time, it looks a lot more attractive on the pictures than in real life. The place was a disappointment once I stepped in my room.... More

Stayed here 3 nights in the ground floor room that's behind the reception desk. The staff are FANTASTIC! They're lovely, warm, eager to help, and so friendly. Rooms are spacious and comfortable, especially the beds which are just the right firmness - not too hard, not too soft. The pool is a treat after a day of visiting the temples.... More
