The Sun Sothy Guesthouse is a real charm, some few kilometres south of Siem Reap's centre. The owner is a Belgian guy who, next to the guesthouse, has set up a school for poor Cambodian children. An early morning visit can be arranged and very inspiring. Other than that, the food is great, one has bicycles to use for free... More

We had a nice time in this guesthouse. After a whole day in the sun it was very relaxing to rest next to the pool or in shill-out place. Not only the hosts are friendly and helpful but it’s located in a quiet area. Also the staff is very friendly. The rooms are not very big but big enough. Also... More

Quiet and relaxing place. Very good kitchen. Nice hosts. Clean rooms. Polite staff. Some say "too far" from the center (what is 10 minutes in a lifetime?) but it's worth it. We will be back would Arnold Swarzenegger say.

If you’re looking for a place to spend a long stay in Siem Reap, this may be your your place. Roger, the owner, is very friendly, informative and talkative (in a good way). His wife is super nice and a really good cook. They both do fantastic work for the community at-large (school, etc). Really good people. The layout of... More

I've been staying here for one week while I was volunteering in the local school which is also run by the owners. I found it a very nice, relaxing place to stay, away from the hustle and bustle of the touristic town. The room was spacious and clean, there is a wonderful pool for swimming and just hanging out. Sun... More

I only write this review to give another perspective, as Sun Sothy is a perfectly lovely place but the majority of other reviews don’t necessarily point out the few downsides. They make no pretense of hiding this fact, but this guesthouse truly is a hike from town; 10+ minutes by tuk-tuk and I-wouldn’t-bother-walking-it minutes on foot or bicycle. (That sounds... More

This guesthouse is a nice place. The room I stayed was clean with a quality AC unit and hot water with almost new electric water heater. The guesthouse is quiet and has a beautiful swimming pool. However, I would not stay again at this place because it's far away from downtown (i.e. 3km) for Siem Reap standards. Even though they... More

Not a bad place, but it is quite far from town, no way you could walk to the action. Not in a quiet area either, it's on a busy, out of town street. Good cheap food at the restaurant, honest owners, helpful in arranging a tuk tuk and tours around temples. Owners were having arguments with each other about the... More

Two reasons we chose to stay at Sun Sothy Guesthouse, we wanted a quiet out of the way place and we were impressed with their work educating Cambodian children. Only 3km from Siem Reap (you can easily walk, bike or tuktuk there) but here you get some peace and quiet and you get to see real life Cambodia. This is... More

We stayed at Sun Sothy for three nights and have no major complaints. The owners are very friendly, and they were always helpful and wanted to make sure we had everything we needed. The pool area is relaxing and lovely, although when we visited the weather was too cool for a swim. The only real potential downside is that it's... More
